I’m sure he’d be a lot more comfortable and play a lot looser and thus better if he wasn’t permanently on the trade block. Unavoidable I know when you get paid that much and play so little. Stating the obvious. He’s not the worst option to have as a back up if you take his contract out of the equation. What’s done is done and moving forward we’re operating over the cap any way. Someone’s gotta talk him into trying to be one of the better backup big men in the league.
Spoiler Teams that want broken Ryan Anderson & his remaining $41,686,181: Spoiler Rockets didn't want the Heat's trash anyways. That's because they have better deals lined up elsewhere. They're trading Anderson for Kawhi Leonard, I mean Kevin Love, I mean Jimmy Butler, I mean Otto Porter, I mean... #HappyTimes #HappyDays #Crow #HowDoYouLikeCrowServed #BrainSurgery #WrappedBrains #FriedBrains #Doctorsfindmanywaysofwrappingbrainsonmetaltrays
Dude has a career 6 Ppg in the playoffs, there's no logical reason for that other than he is one of the biggest mental midgets in NBA history. Ryan Anderson is the only one sleeping on himself.
He's not bad as the 10th guy in the lineup. Question is, can you beat GSW who has 5 allstars with a deadbeat taking that much money? Thus far the answer is no which is people want him gone.
Cannot trust the guy anymore, he really blew his own value with that scared passive aggressive sabotage job.
Heat don’t want trash...very shocking scrub Ryno is here to stay...nobody wants this bum or his sh*tty contract what an absolute waste of 20 mil
The article said the Heat won't trade Johnson straight up for Anderson because RA makes more.... If there is a trade it all, it will consist of the Rockets taking back more money than they are sending out to give the Heat some luxury tax relief (and likely a 3 year deal for future cap space). Anderson, minimum contract filler & a 1st for Johnson & Waiters etc...
He did get CP3. He drafted Capela in the late first round. Melton looks like a 2nd round steal. Let’s be positive.
It's going to end up being Ryno and our first for Shumpert and Koufos, and that will be at the deadline. No point giving up a first when you have the benefit of seeing how things go for half a season. Maybe between now and the deadline, someone we didn't think we could acquire becomes available for Gordon and a 1st. You never know. Also, just to be clear, yes we all know Shumpert sucks. Just thinking realistically about this. Would dramatically reduce our tax bill next season and shave a few million off this season. That's worth a late 20's pick.
None of that invalidates what I said about Anderson being one of Morey's biggest blunders that has been continuing to hurt this team. There is absolutely nothing to be positive about when it comes to Ryan Anderson.
Lots of those blunders occurred that summer. At least we didn’t give Joakim Noah all that $$$. But yes, Ryno’s Contract. Ugh.
I understand but like I said, what’s done is done. We’re now over the cap. So it’s not like getting rid of him means we can sign someone else. And despite the many trade ideas that are suggested on this forum, it’s not like we can package him with any assets that can bring someone that is a difference maker. If we do manage to ship him it would be for equally useless (MAYBE slightly less useless) overpaid players. If we got Ryno to get to play near his best I’d go as far as to say no one we can get back can help out as much. Let’s not forget how great of a floor spacer he was for Harden less than two years ago, and the difference between then and now is not because he’s older.
The Warriors essentially played 7 players against the Rockets in that series. The same Warriors everyone endlessly praised year after year on as being infallible in team building. The truth simply is there does not exist many people who can play in a Warriors vs Rockets matchup. Trading Anderson and picks for a player that will just get killed in the playoffs make no sense. Even James Johnson is a borderline players against the Warriors due to his lack of shooting, and won’t see any minutes if Capela gets better.Tyler Johnson wouldn’t see minutes over EG/CP3/Harden. Neither would’ve Kent Bazemore. People who want Anderson gone just want him gone. There’s absolutely no logic behind their hate. This is why Morey has yet to pull the trigger on any trade. Because Morey isn’t looking to dump Anderson without making the team better. The way fans want him to do.
We'll get rid of him when he has one year left on his deal, his contract then turns into a huge expiring at least...until then, maybe the guy be just a pinch useful this year? Just a little bit? Maybe?
Just in case you haven't noticed, the Miami Herald (and the Sun Sentinel as well) are trying help the Heat win this slow part of the news cycle by saying, "Riley is bringing everyone back. We are the best team in the league at developing young players. We are standing pat." Believe nothing. I sure don't.
