Any tips would be helpful. How do I not look like a complete moron and not get everyone in the casino to hate me for being a noob
Casinos love noobs, they make the $$$ But in reality just go watch a few rounds at the craps tables. It's probably the easiest to make some money
Luckily I know how to play blackjack, unluckily I don't have the odds sketched into my brain. I gotta learn how to play craps lol.
You can actually. The casino still has the advantage even with the best strategy. You can't bring the below however. http://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/appendix/17/
Play high stakes poker, wear a real nice tux and while at the table call a waiter/waitress over and order a "Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet" and everyone will be so impressed that they'll probably hand you money. That's what I learned from Casino Royale. Are you allowed to print that and have it with you on the table?
not to be a buzzkill but I don't think I could ever gamble at a casino. Its pretty much analogous to burning money with the illusion of you being in control. Could give that money to charities etc..
Get an app for your phone to learn basic blackjack strategy. Take a craps lesson, they usually happen during the morning. Blackjack and craps, played correctly, give you the best odds of beating the house, which still aren't good. Otherwise, we play video poker and low stakes slots to pass the time and get free drinks.
Pretty great system and advice, especially if you can maintain it and not drink too much, I mean it's fine to drink..... Just don't get sloppy. Ideally though it's a good idea to practice the counting on your own prior to sitting at a table, I mean for example if you sit down with a lot of other players you might not be ready to be watching multiple hands, however since this time (winter) is a bit slower (in Vegas) you have a good chance of sitting down solo with a dealer during the day.
If you keep in mind that a casino is for entertainment and not for getting rich then it isn't any different from going to a bar or a concert or a sporting event. You're burning money regardless. With casino you can might get lucky and have more money in your pocket then you did before coming in.
You know just as well as I do that the odds are stacked against you in such a manner that you're essentially burning money. Going out to a bar involves shelling out for alcohol/ food that you are paying to consume, and doesn't entail spending thousands of dollars. You're right , there is a big entertainment aspect, which is what gives people the illusion that its ok to just throw $$$$ just like that.
