I'm looking to purchase a 46" HDTV that most importantly plays DIVX files (like torrented movies) directly from USB port onto tv.

What are my options? I think LG has a model like this, but what else is out there? I haven't been able to find much info on this feature.

    Thanks.

    Pick up one of these:

Check out the specs for the formats you desire, but i'm pretty sure it'll be solid. You can basically plug any storage device into the USB port and you are good to go!

they run for about $100 but you can grab it for about 20 bucks less if you look for deals

I had this player before. Decent but no upconversion. The WDTV uses a similar decoding chipset, but WDTV doesn't have space for an internal HDD. I think both can support a wireless adapter.

    45 bucks after rebate.

The thing is, if you want upconversion, your best bet is to shop around for a Blu Ray player that costs half as much as a PS3.

And if your Blu Ray supports DNLA, it can play files directly from a windows 7 machine....wireless optional.

Encoders still use DivX? I thought most of it was H.264 these days. Weird. I've been out of the scene too long to care or notice, I guess.
