Looks good . Will definitely give a try . However (and this is nitpicking ) what made season 1 so great wasn't just mcconaughey's character but also harrelson's. In the trailer it seems very focused on that one detective . Hopefully they can find a strong partner for him .
Perhaps they have close to equal screen time. They focused on him in more in the trailer so they can put in BIG/BOLD that his an oscar award winning actor.
I honestly think they need to pull the plug on this show. It's being way too dramatic and focusing on the occult and that really only worked for the first season since it was such great script.
Dramatic series is too dramatic. There was nothing occult about Season 2, and I haven't seen anything to lead me to think it's involved in the 3rd. Looks like a mystery/crime through time (just like season 1 was).
Problem with season 2 was disjointed direction and no one outside of Farrell giving a damn about their character feeling authentic. Mcconaughey was so good as Cohle that when Cranston won Best Actor it was kind of a shocker.
Yep, some of the characters (Vince Vaughn and his wife, the motorcycle cop) were just terribly written, then they doubled down with even worse acting. And frankly, the story arc sucked.
Vince Vaughn, Taylor Klitsch, and Rachel McAdams were all terrible. Vince wasn't convincing as some sort of underhanded casino owner, Taylor was supposed to be an in the closet gay cop, and Rachel McAdams was a sex craved nympho except the only time this actually seemed to be implied was when she watched p*rn for like, a little bit. Farrell was good but not good enough to outdo everything else that was awful about that show. Harrelson and Mcconaughey were AMAZING in their portrayals of a sleezeball, hypocritical detective and a nihilistic, depressing and exhausting know it all.
To me the occult stuff is what drew me in . The little occult stuff there was in season 2 was the best part of the season . I'm all for more creepy , culty stuff
