So the Heat start out slow and now seem to be hitting at all cylinders. Today they look like they are going to beat the Hawks and move up to the third spot in the East. Im watching the game and Wade, bosh and James cant miss a shot...
again, we can't really judge them until february. they will get mike miller back, and possibly haslem. mike miller can take this team to another level b/c of his size, shooting, and ability to at least dribble the ball (unlike house or jones)
I'm watching the game, and the Heat are playing great as a team right now. They key is, is that there defense is so good right now, that its causing a lot of easy buckets in the open court. Chris Bosh, Wade and James are all playing a lot better right now, and I suspect will silence a lot of haters very soon. Props go out to Mario Chalmers and J Howard, playing great team bball.
I also think the Dampier pickup wasnt that bad of an idea I think this is a case were washed up C + washed up C = mediocre C???
also james and wade are making their easy shots. the early stretch had them missing a ton of layups or close shots, and that was very uncharacteristic of them. again, their peak won't be till february/march
I guess in your words, Miami Fans cannot be happy when there team is winning, we have to shut up, and be quiet. Also, if Miami was losing this game, people would say " Another team Miami lost to by a team above .500"
This is a valid point. The Heat sort of remind me of Phoenix Suns teams over the years who would overwhelm and destroy inferior opponents but would have big-time trouble against teams of equal talent. Obviously the haters foolishly jumped the gun on the Heat's demise when they struggled earlier. It's going to take the entire season for them to jell and create a proven chemistry that can survive under pressure. No matter how good or bad the Heat play now, it isn't necessarily an indication of how they will perform during the playoffs. Their playoff performance might be the only thing we remember about them after the season is over.
have you seen joe johnson this year? he's been shooting the ball very poorly so far. he's shooting .256% from 3 and .409% overall.
Mike MIller to save the season? No, not necessarily the case. Mike Miller wont make or break or "save" their season imo. Though as you see here, and not saying right or wrong, people will say you can't judge the Heat until later on in the season and/or until they got a full healthy squad together.
Alanta was on a 5 game winning streak, coming into this game. So they were playing quite well, without Joe J.
I don't think anyone could truthfully believe the Heat would completely self-destruct. That's wishful thinking, but not realistic. They should get to the playoffs easily on talent alone. But it's the playoffs that matter...I am at least happy that it hasn't been a cake walk for them; that they have struggled at times and have experienced a little inner turmoil. And I would definitely be a happy camper if they didn't win a championship this season...again probably foolish to believe they never will win one. But just not this season. I don't want it to be that easy.
"There is no way David Wesley will help the Rockets! I can't believe we traded JJ for this scrub" Sometimes the right piece, no matter how small, makes all the difference.
You guys are really sad. Joe Johnson played in three of those games. And those games came against some of the worst teams in the league: Philadelphia, Washington, Toronto, Memphis, and New York. So, Atlanta had beaten one team over .500 in their last five and they were missing their best player against the Heat. And you guys seem to think this is some kind of quality win. Too funny.
