Let's have a silly debate and take a break from this never ending off-season. What will be higher - Harden's 2017-2018 3 point % or Altuve's 2017 batting average? Harden shot .347 last year but presumably this will go up as he plays off-ball more with CP3. He shot .390 his last year at OKC. Altuve is currently at .368 (holy shittt), but with 58 games left, this could move significantly one way or the other.
Altuve is insane, the fact that this is even a discussion goes to show how crazy Altuve has been hitting. I don't even like baseball, but it's easy to root for Altuve.
I wouldn't be so sure. He's already at 400 at bats, so assuming 640 is at bats for the season, he'd have to go like .275 rest of the way to get that low. Certainly possible, but I'd say he finishes around .350.
Idgaf about baseball so I don't even know who this Altuve guy is...Harden has this thing on lock Harden shot 38% on catch and shoot threes last year but only got a little over 2 of those a game, now he has CP3 setting him up
Altuve had a monster July. .485 (1st in AL), .523 OBP (1st), .727 SLG (1st), 1.251 OPS (1st), 8 SB (2nd), 21 RBI (4th), 10 2B (5th). If he continues that hot bat, it'll be hard to pick against him.
Lmao at comparing unathletic fat stickball players to the most important elite athletes in the world. Go join the other couch potatoes in the eggball forum don't pollute the garm with this garbage. Premium post delete thread ban op How did i do?
I'm taking Altuve here because if Harden is making more than 40%, coach will tell him to shoot more and he'll regress to the mean. Either way he's helping the team.
You would hope that with CP3 taking a bit of the pressure off of Harden he will be able to shoot at least .380 from 3PT next year. Altuve will likely finish the year in the .340 to .360 range which is more impressive than shooting .380 from three in the NBA, in my opinion.
Not really talking about what's more impressive, just the raw numbers because interestingly close enough. I'd say batting .300 is about as impressive as shooting .400 with high volume in basketball. Altuve is just a monster.
