Its real close but Harden is carrying this team by himself and Curry has a stacked team so im not surprised that hes getting a lot of assist. Harden can get a lot of assist if the players keep making their shots.

Yes, Harden dishes out 1.3 fewer assists per game, but scores 3.4 more points. Until recently, I would have voted Curry as the MVP, but not right now.

That's part of it. Curry is part of the Splash Brothers. Including Curry, they have THREE people shooting the 3 ball over 40%. The Rockets have ZERO players shooting above 40%. Our best active shooters are Terry, Harden, and Beverley. Brewer has been amazing since being traded, but seems to be falling back down to earth. Oh and we just added Josh Smith to buff the Brick Brigade! Basically Curry and Splash Brothers VS Harden and Brick Brigade. If our players could shoot as good as GSW players can, Harden would have at least a couple of more dimes again. Add this on top of Harden being a higher scorer and you do the math. Harden IS the Rockets offense.

The other thing is Harden gets to the FT line a TON, basically twice as often as Curry. He makes 8.9 attempts a game to Curry's 4.5. This means that Harden forces the other team to foul 2-3 more times each game. This often easily means the difference between a team being in the penalty or not. Once the opposing team is in the bonus, what does one think happens against a team whose offensive philosophy is "Layups, free throws, and three pointers"? An avalanche of easy gimmes for us our it SHOULD be if half of our players could actually hit there FT'S. I want Calvin Murphy as our FT coach!

Don't let your mind be confined to positions, it will only limit how you think. Position is based on your skillset, but often people will try to squeeze you into a pigeon hole due to size. Harden is a combo guard who can shift between the 1 and 2. Harden simply plays SG on paper as he is most definitely the PG for the Rockets. On D, positions don't matter. It is simply a matter of who can guard who the best.

That's just part of the picture. Curry plays with much better shooters too.
