James flat-out played harder than I've seen him play in ages tonight. He left everything on the floor and busted his ass on both ends. The end result wasn't that great, but if he played with this intensity every night, he'd be the best player in the game.

What do you guys think? Did he finally come to the realization that he can't just coast anymore? Can he keep up this level of effort going forward?

Either way, he deserves some props for his performance tonight, let's just hope he can keep it going.

Yes he played great but does not matter.

He was pretty average or bad in the last 2, 3 games.

    1 game to 2 or 3 games

Harden plays better after visiting a strip club.

Stats wise Harden had a very good night...

But sometimes you have to give up to get...

What this team needed tonight was defense and a lot of help on the boards...

The team was actually playing very well win Harden was on the bench in the 2nd, moving the ball and finding the open man.

Stats are great... But giving up on stats and winning is better...

From a stats stand point Aldrich is having his worst year ever... From a winning perspective, he's having his best year ever..

I would love to see Harden take more leadership on giving the team what they are lacking at times... We know he can score, but if the team needs defense, give up the scoring to put the effort on the defensive end.

take a look at Lamarcus Aldridge

I hope you meant him and not Aldrich

stats are down - winning games

First year of Tmac in Houston - stats are down from those in ORL and he won more games

The answer is no to OP

Harden's game isn't sustainable, and it has never been sustainable even last year. He put up great games against weak teams, shat the bed a lot too, but the team was better, the league got better this year.

We would never win relying on him, it just doesn't work

The answer is no until proven otherwise. Too much evidence of the contrary. Nights like this are great, but need consistency.

If you really dare us to choose... well Howards 36 and 26 or 24 rbs was better because I think the Clippers have a better and tougher team than the Pistons even without Grififn.

Clippers are another team that has talent but not enough chemistry and clutchness

Effort will never win you a chip. Our problem is we have no actual system to be EFFICIENT in our offense or defense. "Try your best" isn't enough when shots don't fall. We need boxing out, off the ball movement, a defensive mindset overall that isn't "Let Dwight take care of it"

@HPbasketball: Rockets had a 126.2 defensive rating with Harden on-court tonight. Only third worst. However, it was the biggest drop from off-court.

Arlza has been a weak link all year. When he scores 15+ we usually win. Honestly we shot all right. Didn't get a lot of calls but we made 12/24 on 3s. That's really good. We didn't have that many TOs either and rebounding ok. Although that is because of all the ft they missed.

Our main problem is SF I actually think brew is ok off the bench but ariza is flat out bad on both sides now. Not to mention we have the worst big man rotation in the league. Howard is great and we need to do everything we can to keep him. But we have to make major upgrades at PF and sf. These guys we got our all 15 min a night tops players and they are being called upon to start.
