Lebron still wins the "best player in the NBA" argument since he's a better player than Harden. However, that's not what the award is about. Harden may not be better than Lebron, but he's having the better regular season and the more successful season. If the award was just given to the best player in the NBA, then Lebron would be an 8 time MVP.

Only thing I don't get with your reasoning is that if winning matters more why would Lebron be over harden either? Rockets have a better record than the Cavs.

Harden at worst should be 2nd on everyone's ballots.

It's over guys. Westbrook just won MVP with this pass tonight. ESPN will be all over this. @J Sizzle been trying to warn y'all for awhile.

lol I was waiting for the first time I saw a comment saying Harden has two 6th man of the year candidates. Lou has played what 6 games now for us? Clearly the reason behind Harden's MVP.

Good point. I'm not sure why I listed Lebron either regarding winning.

WB is mad that Harden is going to get Player's Vote for MVP

Westbrook brushes off Curry's MVP prediction: 'Who's he?'
By CSN Bay Area staff March 16, 2017 12:37 PM

Stephen Curry believes James Harden is in line to win the prestigious award this year.

Russell Westbrook is not pleased and showed the reigning back-to-back NBA MVP no respect when he responded on Thursday.

"I don't care," Westbrook told reporters. "It don't matter what he says. Who's he?"

Curry joined The Dan Patrick Show on Monday and said, at that point in the season, he would go with Harden.

Patrick: "Who would be your MVP this year?"

Curry: "I'm gonna cop out. You gotta ask me in 16 games when the 82 is over."

Patrick: "How about right now though? If you're not voting for yourself or anybody on your team, just as a basketball fan..."

Curry: "Ummmmm, I'd probably say James (Harden)."

Patrick: "What is it about him that's different from Russell Westbrook as far as value?"

Curry: "Probably not much (in) value. You gotta award the better team I would think, record-wise, as it's kind of gone in the history of the MVP award. So I think James would probably edge him out just off that."

Memphis and Clippers just folding in the regular season and allowing OKC to pass them up.

Sad. If WB gets 4th seed he gets MVP. Do something useful for once in your life CP3.

Baseball had gold gloves decided by managers before... Rafael Palmeiro won a gold glove at first despite playing less than 30 of 162 games in the field... http://www.sbnation.com/2011/12/2/2604446/rafael-palmeiro-1999-gold-glove

After reading this, WB is going to average 20/20/20 to finish the season.

3 steps by Oladipo, doesn't count.

TBH that was all luck (ball going through the legs instead of hitting the leg), but I know I'd love it if Harden did it lol.

He was aiming for Taj Gibson, off target pass.

Rubio's pass the other night was better anyway.

Westbrook will win it if they end up 5th probably and if somehow 4th, it's over for Harden. I just hope if he wins we will play them, but I doubt it. People are expecting us to play OKC, but Clippers or Grizzlies is far more likely.

The game in Houston in a few days against OKC could end up deciding who wins the MVP. If we win and Harden has a big say in the win( he does all the time anyway) it could tilt it towards him but if Westi and the Thunder win and they end up with the 5th seed it could tilt it towards him so that is going to be a monster game.

Harden will have to win AND get monster numbers. Westbrook need only do 1 of a multitude of things to still be an MVP. He can still lose and have a terrible game and people will be ok with it. Harden needs to be perfect. absolutely perfect.

But let's be real, Harden never had the MVP it was always Westbrook's to lose.
