i have no clue how having knight who can barely walk on one leg still, chriss who is as dumb as melo, and ennis who can't stay on the floor without fouling gives hou a better chance of going deep in the playoffs. I'd love to hear someone make a case for all 3. itll be a laughable read for sure

Ennis was the best one of the 3. that's how pathetic that is.

Why does it have to benefit him?

Your claim that he is basically a Warriors supporter makes no sense on the face of it, since Fertitta would presumably profit from having a better team than the Warriors, and most of us would agree that profits are desirable.
Do you have a reason why you think he supports the Warriors?

Clearly more important to go into the playoffs completely healthy than trying to get a higher seed.

I was thinking specifically of House who is being left in the G-League til the absolute latest date allowed(March 24) in order for the Rockets to maximize their savings. If we had him on the roster right now, the injuries to Shumpert(who we got in exchange for Knight and Chriss) and the salary dump of Ennis wouldn't matter.

Certainly I'd like to have Ennis right now if there's no Shumpert OR House. But the point is that we're without Ennis and House and we traded for Shumpert all because Tilman wants to save money and remain as far under the tax as possible should Capela hit one or more of those bonus incentives in his contract.

Neither ennis nor house is worth the fuss this board makes about them. Especially ennis. Again, people literally were disgusted by that guy and now that hes gone the narrative is they like him now. I'll never understand that logic. but it goes along with the wishy washy theme cf's loves to have

House is no where near this savior some of you try to make him out to be. he shows he still struggles in the g-league. house made his choice when he turned down the original offer. that's his own fault, nobody else's. Now like many of us have pointed out, they'll likely just wait til the deadline to make a final decision with him. And if he keeps playing like the way he did a couple nights ago, he isn't doing himself any favors

He is trying to keep playing hurt and others can step up while he rests. He just won't let up when something is obviously wrong and that isn't necessarily helping, especially in the long run. Others are capable of taking those 3's we love to take. Just look at the last 3 games of our players. Harden took the most 3's going 3/31 at .096%.

Meanwhile, PJ was 11/18 at .611, Faried 3/6 at .500, Green 7/16 at .435, Paul 9/23 at .391, Gordon 8/23 at .348, Shumpert 2/7 at .286, and Rivers 2/8 at .250. It just doesn't seem in our best interest for James to be playing through injury yet continuing to push shots at an extreme when others are shooting at much higher percentages.

Five game rests could lead to 6 seed. Do you want 6 seed?

This is why he shouldn't have played against the Hawks and the Hornets. We probably would have won without Harden.

Sure .... if the activity is like yoga

Harden is trying to go out there and perform at a high level athletically .

Every other team in the league would rest their star player if he was banged up ... its only with harden and MDA that we head that "he has to play his way back in shape after the ASB "

If it means harden is fully healthy ... then YES !!

Do you want 4-5 seed and harden plays like **** because he's hurt ?

House will return March 24. Sign ten day contract is the best way to save money.

Let’s say you have 3 options if harden rests a few games.

    5,6,7 seed.

    Which one is the best?

people talk like we dumped good players or passed on acquiring good players because of LT concerns...nah, we dumped scrubs because most owners aren’t going into the LT to keep the likes of Ennis, Knight, and Chriss...we were literally paying Knight 15 mil to waive towels courtside

And now we are paying shumpert 11 million to do that and we gave up a first for him

Knights 15 million expiring would have been a good asset next season.

We gave up 2 more seconds to dump contracts .

    At least Ennis was playing

Shump is paid less and expires...we’ll see how much he actually contributes here once healthy, he’s only been here a few weeks...there was no way in hell Knight was ever gonna be useful for us on the court, at least Shump has a chance

    Ennis was garbage

majority of owners do not want to pay LT, and they definitely don’t want to pay it to keep those 3 scrubs on the roster

if a player is actually worth the money, I don’t see all this evidence that Tilman would just say no...we did offer up 4 1st rounders for Butler knowing full well we’d have to give him a max and pay a substantial tax bill...Tilman ok’d that move

When exactly will Shumpert be healthy? He was acquired 3 weeks ago. He's been in uniform for half of the Rockets' games since then. He had a sore knee AFTER a week off for the All-Star Break for God's sake.

No one is arguing Knight would've contributed anything to this team even if healthy. But his contract(plus those extra picks) would've been useful this summer and next season. To give all that up for a guy who's barely doing more than Knight makes no sense.

you can apply all that Ennis. he gets hurt a few games into the season. plays again and then gets hurt for about a month. or is everyone forgetting that he missed significant time and believe he was just healthy the entire year

there’s no way I could answer when Shump will be healthy...could be next week, could be next month

So if Knight had no value at all this season, why have I seen so many people on here on Tilman’s ass for “conceding this season” by “penny pinching” and dumping scrubs? You’d swear he said no to acquiring good players this deadline because of LT concerns. How did he weaken the team this season by deciding to dump Knight, Chriss, and Ennis? We dumped the scrubs who were just wasting away collecting checks and hoped to replace them with the likes of Wes or Morris in the buyout market who could be actual contributors. Tilman won’t pay LT to keep scrubs, but I think he will pay it to acquire and keep actual good players.

The difference is nothing was given up for Ennis. We signed him to a vet minimum deal. If he sucked, we just cut him during the year or let him walk this summer. Shumpert cost us a valuable expiring contract heading into next season along with picks. The Rockets saved money in that trade, but they also gave up a couple of their best assets to improve the roster going forward. And all for a player who's barely doing more than Knight did.
