    yes, we’re aware

like I said in the game thread, he’ll have a 2 week stretch where he’ll shoot 40-50% from 3 on high volume in order to get back to his career averages, it’s only a question of when that will be

Idk why anyone would be worried about Harden...he’s the least of my concerns

    Yup...

Taking hard, contested shots may lead to a poor FG%. He would do well to occasionally play off the ball when Westbrook is on the floor, that is make attempts to cut and move to get open.

And Steph Curry has 2-3 game stretches where he goes 3/25 from three.

    It's just variance.

Has anyone ever considered Harden maybe able to unlock another level by adapting his play style? Or that the Rockets can succeed at a high level with Harden taking better shots?

No, nobody has ever even considered what would happen if Harden was always open.

    On offense* I agree.

I know he’s not known for defense but sheesh!

Clearly there's not enough spacing. So Harden has to step back to get his shot off... Hence the low shooting %.. Duh

    Always open? You're right...

But how about just sometimes open? How about making things easier yourself and your teammates?

I mean, like who? Name a player who has a higher TS% that is also open more often on the same usage.

Expending effort getting open simply isn’t worth it when Harden is so good at hitting contested shots.

Harden just needs to play where there is more flow with the team and then when the defense is on their heels he needs to stroke the threes. That dribble hand off I have seen Russ and James do is a money play

I doubt Harden's catch and shoot % is worse than his "contested shot %". I think Harden can even be better overall if he struck a better balance in his play style. There are consequences to long rebounds on the defensive end.

This is overwhelmingly certain to be his percentage all year.

But the good news is that he'll undoubtedly hit 96% of his free throws this season.

In fact, Rivers and Gordon are also virtual locks to continue their 30%/20% shooting splits over the next 79 games.

PJ Tucker is going to average 16.7 PPG all year, no question. He will not miss a single free throw.

It's called Pistol by most NBA/NCAA teams. MDA invented it. He calls is 21 Series -- referring to the 2 and 1 position.

You can also deny the hand-off and go baseline around Harden. Nash would do that a lot. This works well when they overplay the hand-off.

Here's Rivers abandoning the hand-off, because Harden is drawing too much defense.

I expect to see WB deny DHO, too, and just take it. He might even cut to middle, vs go around Harden, if WB's man hedges to trap Harden before the hand-off. I've seen that happen.
