Happy Father's Day Clutchfans especially to the new dads. None of my family lives in Houston anymore but last year I got to take my dad around Houston, the first time he's been back in years and possibly the last time he will as international travel is very hard on him. While we were driving near Rice University he remembered our first house, really just half of a duplex, that we lived in Houston when he was young professor at Rice and mom was still a grad student. We found it and it was still there. I only have vague memories of living there but it was great to see dad reminisce about those days.
He taught physics at Rice and then later he also taught a course in biophysics at Baylor College of Medicine. When I took him to Rice on the same trip we also found his office and the lab that he used to work at there.
My Dad doesn't even know who I am anymore due to ALZ dementia. But, Happy Father's Day, Dad. I miss your nagging and would give anything for a full blown nagging and tongue lashing right about now. I haven't been the same without you to talk to. Mom is getting a pacemaker put in right now so no seeing Dad today. I will see him next weekend.
