I wasn't able to catch the Grizzlies game today. Can anybody give an update on this guy? Wasn't this guy owning Scola and Pau Gasol in international ball a year or so ago?
Haddadi is in his second year but was getting owned David Andersen yesterday. Too bad the Grizzlies signed him to a guaranteed 3yr contract.
I've watched portions of 3 Grizzlies games this season he didn't play much. No impression of him at all other than he's a foul machine.
My dad actually saw him and his agent in a Persian restauraunt yesterday before the game. I guess he hasn't been working out for the Grizzlies.
Read somewhere that he was complaining about lack of minutes in Memphis... then went out last night to pick up 2 over the back loose ball fouls in 3 minutes. Seems to be a classic V-Span case: Foreigner with internatnional success think they should be treated like star in NBA. Except he's not even as good as Span. As far as I can tell, the guys is pretty much a useless stiff in the NBA.
I am Iranian so I want him to do well but he just stinks right now. Oh well at least he is in the NBA. Source of National pride.
He's the third center in the Griz' rotation if Thabeet is healthy -- that doesn't sound like much playing time at all.
That was actually my friend who knows his manager and Hamed Haddadi who hung out yesterday at Garson. They have a couple pictures together but I don't want to post his pictures cause they aren't mine.
I was able to meet Haddadi after the game thru a buddy with pass. First off...dude is massive tall. He played a few minutes but picked up two fouls right away and had to sit down. They were speaking farsi and threw in some english in the middle so i pretty much had to guestimate and he was saying that he is not getting enough minutes, touches, etc. i know, i know...not true without pictures. Will post later tonight.
He's the 4th center on the grizz. Gasol is playing at a all star level and thabeet is a high lotto pick. Hunter is back and looks active again. They should trade him or hunter.
One thing that caught my eye was that Scola was able to back him down from way out near the 3-pt line...when a guy who is a foot smaller then you can back you down that much and score on you then you've got problems
