Oh, I'm not. Harden is great...I also laugh at all those who discount him for MVP, or saying he isn't amongst the best players currently.

BUT, Hakeem is an all time great. The discussion on Harden is where does he place amongst the best players currently. The discussion on Hakeem is where does he place amongst the best players EVER. So, 2 different animals indeed. Hakeem did things no other human on planet earth has ever done. , or likely will ever do. What does Harden do that no other player has ever done, or will ever do?

It's the Mount Rushmore discussion. Saying someone may not belong there isn't a dis, it's recognition of the extremely rarified air that that is.

Look, Hakeem is the most decorated and beloved Rocket of all time and rightfully so.

That said, why do people always try to pit our own against each other? Why can we not enjoy the Harden era and appreciate it for what it is? We are witnessing some damn good ball.

I don't care about how many times Hakeem jacks up 3 pointers, I only care about the banners and glory he brings to the Rockets.

Harden is not a decent defender, a decent defender makes first or second team all defense.

Then if D'Antoni got outreached , then how is this team going to win a championship and how is Harden going to get Finals MVP?

You got to make it to the Finals first.

If Harden propels the Rockets over GSW and gets his ring then I would personally place Hakeen and the Beard at 1a/1b.

I just don't understand how his footwork is so incredible. It's seriously the most graceful thing I've ever seen.

I don’t even want to do this...

He has to match all of Hakeem’s individual/team awards to pass him?? That’s ridiculous! He has to rack up a good amount of his own individual/team awards, but he doesn’t have to match them. That’s such a simple, stupid argument.

Hakeem is still the greatest Rocket ever. But if Harden gets a ring, he’ll be on his way to passing him.

I get so tired of arguing with old timers that don’t understand how much better players are today than they were in the 90’s.

This is simply not true! Defenses are far more complex now than they were in the 90’s. You were barely allowed to double team in the 90’s due to the illegal defense rules. Players just took more cheap shots. And other than the cheap shots, it wasn’t THAT physical. Overall, the defense wasn’t that good... The offense was just simple.

You’re right... And Hakeem never lead the league in scoring.

Neither fact proves either guy is better than the other.

They changed the rules cause the league wanted more offense and make it a more guard friendly league

    Cause guards sell shoes
