    I think it's his value. Great news! Here's hoping he has a better season. Being immersed in our system from the beginning, rather than the last third or so, will be good for the guy. We'll need him with Ariza gone.

    Curious, why are there so many 1 year deals being signed (Ariza, DJ, GG, etc), is there going to be another bargaining agreement or TV deal in a year that will bump cap up again? GG I can understand since he's a fringe player, but I'm surprised Ariza and DJ not looking for longer deals at their age. Also rumors of Durant wanting a 2 year deal, player option in year 2. What gives?

    cap is projected to increase to 109 mil next summer and 116 mil the summer after that...a lot more teams will have cap space as some of these terrible 2015 and 2016 contracts start to expire

    As crazy as it is for his age, I think Gerald has a lot of room to improve in our offense. Last year, he was thrust into a role mid-season that seemed more like an ultimatum to shoot 3's (and make them) or get back on the bench. Next year, especially without Ariza, Gerald has a chance to step into more minutes and to be leaned on even more.

    I'm so glad we prioritized him right at midnight. He was the guy I wanted back most because he brings so much heart to our team. I'm not sure that would be the case if he played for any other city, though. There's just something magical about GG in H-Town!

    Definitely worth it. No brainer for Morey. When push came to shove MDA only played 7 men against Golden State. GG was one of them, ahead of Ryno (our $20M bench warmer), JJ, and Luc.
