[Guess I'm A Fool creating this threa with a lot of asian fans there], but...

I'm sorry LOF's, let's talk about this move:

    * sign JJ.Hickson this summer for about 4-5M/year at most. (consider 4M since I don't think he may get many offers, Blazers are out of race for JJ).
    * fire(waive) Greg Smith, Francisco Garsia, Aaron Brooks (what is he doing anyway there for 2.5M???)
    * target Ray Allen for about 4M/year (he is on player option, and probably not happen). But imagine our team would be clutch as hell, and even more productive from behind the arc.
    * if not happens with Ray Allen, why not try with Tony Allen - up to 5M/year? And grizzlies can't afford much to Tony due cap space. Also could target Nate Robinson, due cap space we may offer the best to Nate.
    * not sure if possible, but trade Jeremy Lin (and if need T-Rob or D-Mo) to Mavs for Shawn Marion (and picks/cash?).
    * try to sign Chris Paul.
    * sign with Delfino for another year/two.

    Asik/JJ.Hickson
    Marion/TJones/D-Mo/TRob
    Parsons/Delfino
    Harden/Ray Allen/Tony Allen
    CP3/Beverley/Nate Robinson

    This is NBA championship contender!
It's around 65-70M salaries in total if we get CP3, Marion, Hickson, Nate and one Allen. (writing this, I cahnged my mind, I'm now more interested in Tony I think, we need some defense).

    Any thoughts?

I don't disagree with your assessment.

Using the cap room to sign mid-level players isn't a great idea, if anything, you want to save as much as posible to get the big talent.

Also, you need to put more thought into how those salaries will actually impact the salary cap. Saying we can sign Chris Paul is nice, but why the heck would he leave a championship contender like the Clips (esp when they fire Vinny)? The money has to come from somewhere, and this sounds more like a dreaming thread rather than actual possible trades.

With Garcia out we can sign either Tony or Ray, with Brooks and Smith out we could sign Nate. Lin out - Marion in (experienced player with great defense, and we don't need PF who scores, because we will have enogh players who can score - CP3/Harden/Parsons in starting five). We don't spend on these any cap. Sign CP3 for max and Hickson on top.

    This is not a dream.

    Nup. Dreaming.

    Scenario 1:
Go after Dwight (sign outright 4 year max with cap space)
    Trade Asik for JSmoove.

Scenario 2 (if cant pull off Dwight signing):
Sign Gasol (He will be on final year of contract $19m)
Maybe Lakers cannot afford him. Gasol is a stop gap we can ditch after the season to go after a Max player the next year.

    Line-up:
    Lin - Beverley
    Harden - Anderson
    Parsons - Delfino
    JSmoove - T-Jones, T-Rob
    Howard - G.Smith, DMo

Morey doesn't go for these stupid mid-level guys. He spends big on significant pieces and let the rest of the roster fill out with low-priced roleplayers, e.g. Patrick Beverley.

We need to go all-out for Dwight Howard.

    Failing that, Chris Paul

    Failing that, Josh Smith

    Failing that, Paul Millsap

Not too concerned with Garcia. I think he will leave to go to a more veteran team like the Nets or the Clippers.

One role player I would love to have is Kyle Korver. With the number of 3's we shoot, he could contribute in a major way to our offense.

So you really think Ray Allen would leave MIAMI and leave playing with LeBron to come to Houston at 38 years old?

As I mentioned, it probably not happen. And why we need that FT-prone Howard if he is team hemistry destroyer?

Hey genius, firing players don't clear their contracts, it just means you lose capspace

I like how your plan basically revolves around signing cp3 LOL!

LMAO, but isn't that true? I'm not racist, why should it sound like that.

Basically those players are on team option for next season, so isn't that clear capspace?
