LOL @ iconic dunk. Every dunk in that contest was better than his "over the car" dunk. It was a great contest though; shame only two could make it to the finals.
i hope they can pump his value high so that we can snatch Jordan out of their pocket..... maybe give them hill....
Unanimous. Order of finish: 1. Griffin (590 points) 2. John Wall (295) 3. DeMarcus Cousins (81) 4. Landry Fields (62) 5. Gary Neal (19) 6. Greg Monroe (15)
It's baffling that Greg Monroe was 6th. He was the 2nd best rookie this year. After the first full month where he struggled, he was a beast. Wall and Cousins %'s were atrocious. Fields and Neal were solid, no doubt, but they're a bit more in the role player mode.
"Griffin received every first-place vote from a panel of 118 media members, easily outdistancing Washington's John Wall. The Clippers' electrifying dunker is the first to win it unanimously since San Antonio's David Robinson in 1990, and just the third unanimous choice in NBA history after Ralph Sampson in 1984." http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=6479861
Damn, with such a UNANIMOUS vote for Griffin to win ROY and NOBODY complaining or having ANY ISSUES with this, I wonder if the MEDIA is CONSPIRING to make us root for a kid (Mitchell) playing for the UTAH JAZZ, a much hated team of the HOUSTON ROCKETS. We should be rooting for the kid who was drafted by our fallen brethren (Simmons, Hinkie). TTP
No one should be voting Mitchell for RoY, imo, over Simmons. Simmons is the best player on the better team, and has been on a tear as Embiid (and to a greater extent, Fultz) has been in and out of the lineup. Plus, purely based on stats: 20/4/4 vs 16/8/8. I'd take the latter, every time. Pro-Mitchell people would say that the Jazz have been on an absolute tear. That's true, but I don't think the Jazz really became great until Gobert came back. When Gobert was out, they were barely keeping their heads above the water.
