What a weird injury. Sucks for Oden. Really had the talent to become a dominant center if he could actually stay healthy.

still found it funny Jalen Rose proclaimed Oden to be a Top3 Center over Yao in his rookie year before he played 1 game.

Blazers center Greg Oden has a fractured left patella that will require surgery. He will likely miss the rest of the season.

    :(

No he does NOT. He easily looks like a late 30's/early 40's man.

From the other thread... another serious patella injury -- his career will never be the same.

It looked like he injured himself from lifting off from the ground.

I hate to see it, but anybody got a link to the video of his injury? Poor guy. He was having a great year. Knee injuries suck. I've torn my ACL twice (both knees). I really hope he can recover. Centers in the NBA are crap.

I joked about him a lot with someone who is a big time Oden believer. This year I must admit he was starting to show a lot of his potential on a consistent basis. I really feel bad for him at this point.

    Terrible. :(

Greg Oden is a good kid, a solid (if not good) player when he stays out of foul trouble. Very sad to see this happen. Why couldn't this have been KG or Pryzbilla or some other asshat?

Horrifying. Rocket fans can relate to it since Yao has had repeated injuries as well. Unfortunately for Greg,it's come even earlier for him. He was playing well when he went down. Hopefully with more modern medical treatment and better rehab,he can make a strong, sustained comeback.

I'm not surprised by the injury. Very common for old men to have osteoporosis.

Man oh man, that is some terrible news for Portland.

Their roster now looks like that 8th-10th seed in the west for the next 5 years. Yuck.
