McGuire is a bit higher on Aldridge than I am (and many on this board as well) but there's been talk lately that Portland is tiring of Aldridge.

What an ass-kissing article. I like Lamarcus Aldridge, but damn, that is some ****ty journalism. If you're going to phrase what you have to like that, no body is going to take you seriously.

Not as good as Chris Bosh and average defensively.

Very good on the offensive end though.

Rebound and shoot. Both Durant and Lebron are better rebounders than him and they're wing players. He's also only shooting .516 TS% which is only slightly better than Jeremy Lin.

We would be contenders if we add Aldridge. He has everything we need from the 4 spot. He's got a complete offensive game, above average defense, rebounding, great P&R game.

Aldridge wasn't hitting his shots to start the season, he's been much better lately. 10 average games do not negate 2+ brilliant years.

Also, I haven't seen one legit article about Portland tiring of Aldridge or him being shopped. I've seen a few blog / bleacher report style "Portland needs to trade Aldridge" pieces being posted here, but that's all.

It's no different than people jumping on the "Josh Smith is now a great 3pt shooter" bandwagon after the first few weeks, or people trashing Love right now.

I totally agree that McGuire goes a bit overboard w/ praise for Aldridge. He seems to be overcompensating for the lack of appreciation Aldridge receives generally around the league. That said, Aldridge averages 8 rebounds a game - sure, that's below average for his position but miles better than anything our PFs can boast. Moreover, his shooting has been in something of a slump this season but really that's all it is, a slump; his career TS% is .53~ w/ significantly better TS% the past two years. He's still 68% at the rim and 46% from 10-15 feet (45%+ is the magic number for mid-range). He's shooting way too many from 16ft-3pt which is bringing down his efficiency.

After Aaron McGuire wrote that article while perched on his knees, I hope he had a moist towlette available, maybe one from KFC in the drawer next to his keyboard.

I like Aldridge's game a lot. He has been extremely consistent since his rookie year. And he's very underappreciated perhaps because of his quiet personality.

Portland's roster is better than its record. Lillard, Matthews, Batum, Aldridge And Hickson. They need better bench support though

    Gothic Ginobili -

    Possibly the worst name ever?

And this is coming from someone who regrets sticking "black" on his moniker for no reason because napalm was taken and he was looking at his black car while registering.
