Gordon/nene/picks for Butler - Tilman needs to pay 20 million luxury tax next season

    Assumptions:
    Gordon/nene/2 firsts for Butler this season
    Knight/cash/1 First to Hawks for a 2nd round pick next summer

    the calculation is as follows

    Next year guarantee contracts = 139 million

    Guarantee - Gordon - nene = 139-14-4 = 121 million

    121 + Butler - Knight + Roster Charge = 121+31-15 +6 = 143 million

    2019-20 Luxury taxes threshold = 132 million

    143-132 = 11 million over the tax threshold = 20 million luxury tax

    Durant is leaving GS.

    Opponents are Raptors and Celtics next season.

    Is it worth to spend 20 million for a championship? GS spends $49 million luxury tax this year.
