The Barneys just love European players, especially soft ones.

Marco has potential, but is Toronto really TRYING to be the absolute softest team in the league?

Sometimes beggars can't be choosers. The fact they turned Devean George into a useful young player is a win for Toronto anyway you look at it.

Absolutely. Makes me wonder if we could have got in on this somehow.

I would take Marco over either of our rookies, and James White lol...
    He just turned 23.

    agreed.

toronto traded for a young talent and got the better player. they won the trade and that's the most important thing for a team with limited talent.

Yeah - Devean George was a throw in salary piece in the Marion S&T. He had almost zero value for Toronto, so turning him into any contributing roster piece is a win for Colangelo. That it's for a guy with some potential and going into the 3rd year of his rookie deal (and can be kept around for low bucks) is a steal.

Definitely an Italian thing going on in TO...

    GM - Colangelo
    Ast GM - Gherardini
    Head Coach - Triano
    Ast Coach - Iavaroni
    C - Bargnani
    SG - Belinelli

Sprinkle in some Spanish (Calderon), Turkish (Turkoglu), Croatian (Ukic) and Slovenian (Rasho) and Europe is well represented. Additionally, if Pops Mensa-Bonsu is kept around, that covers Africa too.

With the addition of Belinelli, Carlos Delfino (Argentina) is no longer probable. Belinelli is a younger, cheaper version who will fit quite easily.

To those saying the team is soft, the additions of Jarrett Jack, Reggie Evans and Antoine Wright will help some, as will Rasho, though he's more of a heady defender than a bruiser. Both Bosh and Bargnani will need to play tougher, though, especially Bosh who no longer needs to save himself for offense.

Now all the Rockets need to do is convince Toronto that they need a tough Euro to balance that team out.

Scola + Anderson + rights to Llull + fillers for Bosh. Then Toronto can truly be an "international team".

If they are going to grab guys from another country, they need to pull tougher guys like the Spurs.

    Tony Parker(France)
    Ginobli(Argentina)

A+ deal for the Raptors. They are getting rid of wastemen who contribute little and getting those who help.

The Warriors gave up too soon on Belineli. They were so high on the guy but could not find some playing time for him. Great pick up for the Raptors. A new place and a new start should jump start Marco's career.

Belinelli did not fit in with the GS locker room, he's going to have a much easier time fitting in with Toronto. I don't think he's very good, but maybe Toronto will bring out the best in him.
