    Golden State Re-Signs Adonal Foyle

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — The Golden State Warriors re-signed free agent forward/center Adonal Foyle to a multiyear contract Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Foyle, 25, was a first-round draft pick out of Colgate for the Warriors in 1997. He appeared in 76 games last season, 59 as a starter, and posted career-high averages of 5.5 points and 5.6 rebounds.

Foyle emphasized his desire to work on his game.

``For me, at this point in my career, I think that it is important to have people around me that will continue to push me to the next level from a good player to a great player,'' he said.

Grrr... maybe we need Warrior Police around here. [IMG]

Anyway, just to fill in what's not in the article, Foyle was referring to Dave Cowens (you know, the Hall of Fame center who was brought in as an assistant coach in January and is now head coach), as well as Clifford Ray (center on the Warriors '75 championship team, hired as an assistant coach this summer). Just after working with Cowens for a couple of months, Foyle's game showed significant improvement toward the end of the season.

Sure, talking about the transition from "a good player to a great player" is a reach, but do you really expect him to say "I hope to improve from being a marginal NBA talent to a pretty good backup"?
