Unlike most people here, I like Doc a lot and think he is a good coach. But this is a legit knock against him. No doubt about it.

Such tremendous highs and lows for Doc Rivers in this series. High point being his son showing up on the big stage ... low point being game 6 collapse and today's loss.

In game 6, BOTH times the team with an actual LEAD went to a Hack-a-Player strategy, it stopped THEIR OWN team's momentum. Shot THEMSELVES in the foot

When Doc went with Hack-a-Howard, after seeing how it BACKFIRED when Rockets went with Hack-a-Jordan, I thought that was a bad coaching move. He went with same ineffective approach the Rockets did to bury themselves. And eventually it resulted in a Rockets run, which lead to greatest playoff comeback in a while..

(Doc has a title though... so while he's a bit overrated, he's not so bad)

Doc Rivers is overrated. He has the same record as Vinny Del Negro with the Clippers. Doc is a player's coach, but he's never been some great X and O's coach.

Nobody on that Clippers team showed up except Paul, he had to do everything. Hard to coach when your entire team is scared of the ball.

GM Doc didn't give Coach Doc enough help.

GM Doc (or Steve Balmer) should fire himself.

Of course, hard to say they didn't have enough help when they were up 19 or however many in game six.

You could probably rephrase that as:

High point being his son showing up on the big stage in games 1 and 3.
Low point being his son showing up on the big stage in games 5,6, and 7

Dead on comment. I argued years ago JVG the GM torpedoed JVG the coach in Houston.

You can't fault Doc for that 1st series, this one, maybe..the effort just was not there for them and just an awful bench. He's still a solid coach.

between barnes and crawford, 2 of their top 6 players are already 35……and there is a huge dropoff after those 6 players…..that team needs depth

He is an overrated coach. He barely got the Clippers past the Warriors in 7 last year, Bogut out.
