marc gasol can't switch out on steph curry.

the only way we beat the warriors is to switch 1-5. we need a 5 man to can protect the rim and guard curry. marc isn't that.

if our 3rd forward who was subbing for ariza and tucker was another legit scorer who can also play D, like tobias harris for example instead of gerald and luc, we'd be that much tougher for for the warriors to beat.

What makes you think Harden will pick and pop when he passes up open shots to dribble and do a guarded step back instead?

 

1. The Rockets are playing what is literally one of the most important games in the history of the franchise today. Why is anyone talking about next season?

2. Marc Gasol wouldn't even be able to see the floor against Golden State. He'd be completely unplayable. And he will be 34 years old next season.

 

He doesn’t fit, we need an athletic lob catching big who can hustle. He needs to be someone who doesn’t need the ball.

I'm terrible at the whole cap game but is there a realistic chance for us to keep Capela with us being over the cap and other teams offering him a max?

 

All i know is we need some beef down low! Doesnt fit with the everybody switching philosophy... but anybody can drive the lane on us without fear - cause nobodys getting knocked on their butt. Somebody who can muscle and box guys out for the rebound.
CC is probably the best fit for us in general - but we need a situational big that can bring the muscle when needed!

 

The only other team to have the Warriors behind in a series is Marc Gasol's Grizzlies and KDs Thunder.

I'm not saying the Rockets need to get him but defending the guy a little bit. He's a finesse big but he can bang down low with the best of them. Plays terrific defense, can score down low and hits big shots.

It no longer becomes "Gasol can't guard Curry" but "No one can guard Gasol." He's that kind of big.

With that said, he doesn't fit our defensive scheme, that much is true or what MDA likes to do and yeah, he's older now.

 

I think we should go after Boogie Cousins.. He's like a bigger Lebron with Less Handles I bet he can play the 4.. he can pass, shoot and at times bring the ball up.. We probably can get him cheaper coming off injury..

Capela is a restricted free agent. Capela can get an offer from another team but we have the ability to match anything. We can resign any of our free agents to new contracts because we have their Bird rights except Luc. For Luc we probably need to sign him with the taxpayer MLE. Every other free agent we sign would be veteran minimum and any rookie scale contracts for 2nd round picks.
