I don't know, man. I used to hate Vernon Maxwell for what he did, and I even forgave that dumbass. Now I like the dude. You don't get more dumbass than Vernon Maxwell that 2nd championship run, but now that he's admitted he screwed up and is a life-long Rocket, apparently? He's my favorite dumbass Rockets player ever.

His return Depends on the classification of his injury . Lisfranc injuries have different classifications based on the severity. Generally, they are absolutely devastating to foot function. As someone who specializes in fixing them, and have been doing it for more than 20 years, I’d be surprised if he comes back this year, or at all. Unless his injury was the lowest form of a lisfranc where no dislocation happened with the injury , and he just partially tore the ligament. In my opinion a ruptured Achilles has a better outcome than a lisfranc fracture dislocation for a pro athlete.

Wow that injury sounds scary. But why is their a ligament involved,I thought its just a bone issue?

Wow thanks for the information. I wish him the best. The guy seemed like he had a blast playing for the Rockets.

Depends on the severity of the lisfranc injury, could be mild sprain or as bad as fracture dislocation, like @ACL1 explained.

I would not pin any hope on getting Gerald back this year. Especially not at 100%.

Appreciate the insight. I hadn’t considered the implications beyond repair and move-on.
    Thanks.

We miss him, but at this point unless McLemore is injured I don't see him suddenly being in the rotation during the playoffs after missing the entire season.

Didn’t Matt Schaub have the same injury years back when Fat Albert Haynesworth purposely stomped on his foot (and ruined our chances for a super bowl win in the Texans’ most promising season ever)?
