Anyone know what Bledsoe's advanced stat look like? I know Morey is a big numbers cruncher.

Who is the PG whose acquisition would have been made impossible or very difficult with Parsons under contract?

Just thought about this, Rockets and Suns could have made great trade partners this summer:
    a) Pick up Parsons' option and make all the other moves we have made this summer. Trade for Dragic using Lin's TPE to absorb his contract and Parsons goes to the Suns. Throw in some picks and that's a great deal.

    b) Don't pick up option and make all the other moves we have made this summer. And S&T Parsons & Bledsoe for each other (assuming Parsons still gets a max deal and wants to go there).

Both trades help balance the talent on both teams (they get SF help and we get PG help). Didn't happen, but fun to think about. I still think we can swing a trade for Dragic if the Suns like any of our rookies/euros/Jones & DMo along with the Pelicans pick. We'll see....

The only that makes sense to go after is Rondo. The other ones mentioned would just be trade assets.

Phoenix as a trading partner makes sense. They have too many point guards. Bledsoe has not been active in free agency. I'm just speculating, but I think Dragic comes back to Houston for Terrence Jones and assets. That'll make the Suns more comfortable signing Bledsoe long-term. Bledsoe knows this and is waiting for Phoenix to make moves. This is how it's supposed to be done, Chandler!

I think Rondo is plan B. How cool would it be if Nick Johnson played for the Celtics. Dennis' nephew. There's green in the blood. Terrence Jones and Nick Johnson would be the center pieces in this trade along with the other assets.

Is this the same George Karl who said Duncan was retiring this year mid way through the season?

I don't understand why they would get rid of Dragic... He is their best player easily

    Neither scenario really works easily.

Parsons signed with the Mavs, our only option was to match or not.
    a) if we match: Parsons is a $15m player who cannot be traded for a year without his consent. If traded, he becomes a $17.25m player in his first season ($18m+ 2nd year, and can opt out after that if he wants).
a)i) if he doesn't agree to be traded, we can't trade him.
    a) ii) who is paying $17.5m for Parsons?
So most likely Rockets are stuck with him for 1 season at $15m, then stuck trying to move him (at over $18m), before he opts out and we lose him for nothing (or worse, sticks around at over $20m.

    b) if we don't match, he's a Mav.

It was the right choice - hindsight is 20/20, and we should have kept him on that minimum deal, and used him as trade fodder this off-season to get a bigger fish (Parsons, NOP pick, Jones, Capella, Eurostash, Gee non-guaranteed money to make up the salary - all makes for an appealing package?) Oh well.

Because he's a PG. Bledsoe is a PG, and probably their 'actual' best player (by ceiling).
They just drafted a point, and signed a point - something is odd here...

Dragic can opt out after next season (surely he will?) - and if they give Bledsoe the max this season, they suddenly find themselves on the verge of maxxing 2 PGs.

I wouldn't want to do it!

Sell high on Dragic, get whatever parts, pieces and talent you can, and look to move those for a bigger fish in a different position.
