People believe in aliens, ghosts, underground lizard overlords, bigfoot, the dinosaur hoax, a flat earth, the Bermuda Triangle, fake moon landings, etc.... Just add the Old Testament to that list.
The Question of Noah's Flood Frank Zindler: Mt. Ararat was created on the third day of creation week, along with the ocean basins, but that at that time Mt. Ararat was only about ten to twelve thousand feet high. Now if all the water came down in forty days and drowned all the mountains of the world, that would require the rain to come down at about eleven and a half feet per hour. John, that's not rain, that's hydraulic mining!
the story of the flood -concepts can be found in ancient Chinese,Indian,Greek, Hawaiians ,aboriginal ,etc literatures but forget about that and try to explain this :
Floods and a FLOOD that wiped out all living things on the planet are totally different things, are you a believer in the arc?
Why do you feel the need everyone needs to think like you? I never met a person who didn't have an irrational thought at one point in their life.
yeah there are flood myth in China, India, Hawaii etc as well, but they are not even remotely similar to noah's ark mythology. You'll have to cherry pick to the extreme by completely ignore most of the stories in those mythologies while emphasizing only certain parts to make the Chinese, Indian etc flood myth even remotely similar to noah's ark myth. Of course there are flood mythologies in pretty much every civilization, ancient civilizations tend to develop around large rivers which shockingly tend to flood.
Noah's flood might have a basis in history ... Black Sea deluge hypothesis The Black Sea deluge is a hypothesized catastrophic rise in the level of the Black Sea circa 5600 BC from waters from the Mediterranean Sea breaching a sill in the Bosphorus strait. ... While it is agreed that the sequence of events described by the hypothesis occurred, there is significant debate over the suddenness, dating and magnitude of the events. Over geological eras, water has flowed in and out of the Black Sea basin. This hypothesis concerns the occurrence of the last inflow and the primary point of controversy is whether the event was gradual or catastrophic.
tinman ! hmm ok ...you should know by now how did the dinosaurs extinct ,too big to fit in wooden boat it's like how unscientific the evolution theory can be but many believe in it here's the closest thing to the origin of human from religious beliefs Spoiler: religious-scientific tree vs. pure scientific theory Spoiler: evolutionary !!! and i tell you what , one narrative is less crazier than the other one for sure, its like a halloween carton tree
