    Career averages
    .378 Dorsey*
    .601 Hayes*!
    .615 Harris !
    .668 Scola*
    .684 Mutombo !
    .720 Artest*!
    .725 Alston*
    .747 Battier*!
    .747 McGrady*****!
    .761 Head
    .797 Francis*!
    .821 Barry!
    .826 Yao
    .833 Novak*

The only thing that made me cringe more than an '06-'07 floater from Rafer was last year's team shooting free throws (especially in clutch situations). How do you think we will fare this year?

Also, Rick Adelman's career free throw percentage as a player was .713. Coincidence?

Edit: Players with a * by their name had a free throw percentage worse than their career average for last year.

Edit again: Players with a ! shoot worse from the line in the playoffs.

Yeah, we're going to suck at free throw again this year. We can expect that to be an Achilles heel. And if Yao goes down with another injury -- yikes.

Hopefully Yao or Barry is on the floor to at least shoot the technicals.

Dorsey FT% is just beyond belief. As a NBA player or someone wanted to become a NBA player, he should do something drastic .. hired specialist, practise 12-14 hours a day during the summer (5 hours daily during the season) to beef that % up. Hayes 0.6 FT is real bad but 0.3++ is mind boggling. Even Shaq, the all notorious FT clunker is 0.5% at FT.

T-Mac was a near 80% shooter at one point. How did he drop below 70%? It's also amazing how Yao is such a great free throw shooter at 7'6".
