Steve Francis was just four years old when Rockets guard Calvin Murphy dropped 42 points on the San Antonio Spurs in Game 7 of the 1981 Western Conference Semifinals. But after spending a season with the outspoken Murphy, a commentator on Rockets television broadcasts, one can only surmise that Francis has heard all about it by now.

If you have access to ESPN Classic, be sure to check out this week's Vintage NBA, airing Thursday, August 17 at 7:00 p.m. CDT, in which Francis goes "in the chair" to talk about one of the NBA's big little men, Calvin Murphy. The "Airwave Archive" flashes back to that Game 7 in the 1981 Western Conference Semifinals, when Murphy's hot shooting night led the Rockets to victory and a berth in the Western Conference Finals against Kansas City.

ESPN Classic's Vintage NBA, hosted by ESPN's Robin Roberts, highlights an NBA legend and a moment in their career in a way that links the past to the present, featuring an "In the Chair" interview with a current NBA star and showcasing popular culture - fashion, footage and fads - from the legend's era.
