[Former Rocket News] Cat Mobley wants to run Medical mar1juana Dispensary

Former Cardinal Dougherty star Cuttino Mobley has come up with an interesting choice for his post-NBA career: He wants to sell pot to the people of Rhode Island.

According to the Providence Journal, Mobley has applied to the state of Rhode Island for a license from the state to run a medical mar1juana dispensary. Mobley told the newspaper that he “wants to help people.”

Mobley played high school ball at Cardinal Dougherty High School in North Philadelphia in the early 1990s and then, after a year of prep school, played three seasons of college ball at the University of Rhode Island.

The 35 year old Mobley averaged 16.0 points a game in his not-quite-12-year NBA career. He retired in 2008.

Mobley is listed as the sole financier for the Summit Medical Compassion Center, to be located outside Providence. Eighteen applicants have filed the paperwork to become one of three mar1juana dispensaries. Rhode Island became legalize medical mar1juana in 2006; however, there have been repeated regulatory delays and other issues that have prevented any from opening yet.
