    Sorry if this has already been posted but I looked around and didn't see it. Apparently Everett was arrested for assault and tampering in Florida.

    He was indeed a hardcore creationist, but I hear he has recently undergone a jailhouse conversion to the Church of Raptor Jesus.

    he sort of reminds me of Sam Jackson's character in Black Snake Moan.

    Well-known Boston Globe sportswriter, Dan Shaughnessy used to call him "Jurassic Carl" due to that. In retaliation, Everett called him (Shaughnessy) the "CHB" (Curly Haired Boyfriend) of Gordon Edes, LOL!

    He was certainly a loon, but I really enjoyed watching him when he was here in Houston.

    The best part about his success was that the Astros basically got Everett for a song from the Mets. The Astros gave up flash in the pan reliever John Hudek for both Carl and Adam Everett.
