Gotta be tough to seperate that out . Especially given that teams that win a chip generally stay competitive for multiple years after that .

Agree with the premise , but your question requires some strong econometrics work haha

I like this bit. Just joined a few days ago. Whose second account is this? I see this as having @Mr. Brightside staying power.

Individual TV deals like Lakers and Knicks. The main markets get those additional advantages.

Profitable is usually company's annual cash flow (Revenue - Cost)...net profit that year.

Valuable ranking factors more things like debts, assets, investments, more indicative of overall worth,

In forbe's case probably this https://www.forbes.com/teams/houston-rockets/#78e99f98202b

There's a metric called Win-to-player-cost ratio. Rockets is 126 this year.

"7. Compares the number of wins per player payroll relative to the rest of the NBA. Playoff wins count twice as much as regular season wins. A score of 120 means that the team achieved 20% more victories per dollar of payroll compared with the league average during the 2017-18 season."

Essentially they are also the 6th or 7th best team in the Power rankings. Give or take.

4th most profitable? Geez. Tilman is hurting. Probably need to sell off another few first round picks to help compensate for such dark financial times.

Insane that the Knicks are the most valuable team in spite of being offensively bad for decades. Location location.

I wonder if a billionaire like, say Musk, called Fertitta up and offered him $3.5 billion for the Rockets would he accept? Or, the more specific question, what reasonable dollar amount would Fertitta sell the team for, right now, in 2021?
