What you think? I think he earned his salary last season. Much more than Namdi.

I thought it was too much at the time, but he played like a top 5 corner last year and has showed no signs of slowing down. At this point I would argue he has earned his money thus far.

when you're living up to the contract, you're not overpaid.

The list is judging people on what they have done, and not what they are doing now. Mario should be #1.

so he was voted all pro the year he got his big salary and that makes him overpaid?

Not to mention the fact he's a top all around 5 corner. Ridiculous.

    lol...

    This must be a joke.

The 2nd best CB in the NFL is overpaid? What about Asomugha who isn't even as good as JJ?

I don't agree with JJ being overpaid at all.

Honestly do not want to go out too much on a limb, but over the last 18 games he has been a top 3 corner..... He has been very good, to the point that his name is never even brought up.

Who cares how much he was injured with his old contract? With his new big contract he has shown up and played exceptional every game. He's the #1 corner on statistically the best pass defense in the league this season. How could he not be worth his contract?

Very dumb author. I am gonna write him an angry email. That'll show him.

    The full list includes

    6. DeAngelo Williams
    7. Antonio Cromartie
    8. Sidney Rice
    9. Vernon Davis
    10. Darren McFadden

    The stated criteria:
    a) Putting out this list after week 1 makes zero sense. If it is for 2012, wait until at least week 10 or 12. If it is based only on the last 2-3 years, put it out in the preseason....or last year around week 12-15.

    b) Mario not making the top 10 is unfathomable. Especially if they have the gall to put Joseph, Holmes, and Davis on there.

Mario is getting double teamed at least %50 of the time and thus opening stuff up for everyone else on the line. Only judging a lineman on sacks isn't very fair.

It must be written before the 2011 season started because looking at the bottom of the barrel level of production from the other 4, minus Dansby the latter part of the season, it's laughable to even compare JJo with these other guys.

I'm surprised one pro bowl season got Lewis that much though. I wonder how much Gronk/Graham/Hernandez will command when they're free agents.

Not picking on you, but I'm so glad we as Texan fans don't have to spout this line out anymore while contantly trying to defend Mario.

Mario isn't the highest paid defensive player in the league because of his ability to open things up for Kyle Williams....

I guess guys like DeMarcus Ware, Jared Allen, and Jason Pierre-Paul NEVER get double-teamed. Only Mario.

Texans were a historically horrid defensive team, particularly against the pass two years ago. The 2 biggest additions were Wade Phillips and Joseph and that turned them into arguably the best defense in football.

Good addition, but not as big as the other two. You did subtract Mario Williams.

Not to mention a Brian Cushing that was off the juice, Brooks Reed, healthy Demeco, and the emergence of Shaun Cody and Kareem Jackson (from dog **** to just slightly smelly ****)
