The High Points of the ads so far: WalMart will be offering a $398.00 HP laptop as well as a HP desktop at the same price. There is some controversy now as the WalMart ad has come out and the 42" plasma screen that has been advertised is nowhere to be found.

Here are the specs for the computers: The Laptop has a 2800+ Sempron processor from Advanced Micro Devices, 256MB of memory, a 40GB hard drive, a CD-RW/DVD drive and a 15-inch screen. The desktop, meanwhile, comes with a 3000+ Sempron, 512MB of memory, a 40GB drive and a 15-inch LCD

Here is the link to a scan of the actual ad that will be in your local paper on Thanksgiving day: Keep in mind this may not be up very long as most stores sue websites that put their ads up early. You may want to look it over, but I checked it, and THE 42" PLASMA SCREEN IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!! Wal Mart Ad Scans

UPDATE 11/7*** It looks as if the 42" plasma is a no go as of right now. It's still listed as one of the deals on one site, but a few others have pulled it off their lists (as stated above, it doesn't appear to be in the Thanksgiving ad). Of course, I'll keep you updated.

PLASMA UPDATE 11/7*** The admistrator at gottadeal.com just gave me this information about the 42" plasma screen.

--- We have reason to believe that there may be a 42" plasma TV (not an HDTV though) at least in some markets. We received a scan of the front page of the ad which contains the plasma in the place of the 15" LCD TV on the ad we originally posted, so some markets might have the plasma while others won't. The plasma also shows as being available on WalMart.com (once BF is here - it's not on the site now) ---

Even if they don't carry this at your store, THIS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT WALMART.COM

Other news: You'll have to check with your local store, but some WalMarts are allowing customers to put Black Friday items on layaway now and you'll pay BF prices when you pick them up. Also, some stores are scanning BF prices on Black Friday items AS WE SPEAK....just thought I'd drop this info.

UPDATE 11/8: Rumored Kmart deals have been added to the list of stores, but I wouldn't lose too much sleep over this. The highlights are $7.99 CD's and cheap toys, other than that, this is just Kmart's pathetic attempt to not seem like a Thanksgiving fuddy duddy.

UPDATE 8:00pm 11/8: The CompUSA deals and ad scans have been added. CompUSA is offering a few Apple products at a discount such as the Apple Powerbook G4 15" for $1999.00 and the Ipod Nano plus free case for $199.00 (I don't think these Ipods are discounted, but you're getting free stuff with them...perhaps that's the deal). This is the first time I've ever seen Apple products offered. Check it out for yourself in the link at the top of the post. IMO...these prices are not that great...I bet Best Buy crushes them again.

UPDATE 1:00am 11/9: Kmart's EarlyBird specials have been added....NOW THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKIN BOUT'. Highlights of this are a $99.00 5MP Polaroid Digital Camera and a $89.00 Portable DVD Player.
