First of all, Ryan Anderson needs about twice as many shots...

The least amount of shots that Ryan has taken since he was playing 22 mpg, 6 years ago on the Orlando Magic. 10 shots simply isn't enough. We need to double that number. Whether that means posting him up, or running him off some tricky screens, I really don't give a damn.

If we are going to endure his defense for 30 minutes a night, we need to get this guy 20 shots a game and make use of his outrageous shooting ability. He is a FAR better player than he has shown and to use him like we use Trevor Ariza is a disgrace.

    /rant...

Eh. He was in a groove tonight and was actively calling for the ball. He still got ignored for random passes to Ariza or bad passes to Capela for no reason.

This happens often lately. And not just in the times he's been in a slump. They have to get him involved no matter what.

I have to think the times he gets ignored are stemming from the rough schedule and lack of breaks we've had. There's no way in hell the team has been able to break bad habits or reinforce good habits while having played 3-5 more games than pretty much every other team. Additionally, I'm sure they haven't properly been able to even watch game tape.

I hope these issues get resolved because we need Anderson rolling.

I'd like to see more as well, but not if that means a reduction in the quality of shots. Ryan got those shots in Orlando in the same fashion our mid 90's Rockets got their attempts. You wouldn't ask Bullard to take 20 shots. I know I'm using an extreme example as Bullard was never a near max player or even starter, but my point is, Ryan was benefiting from an inside/outside game in Orlando, which the Rocket's have NO post threats to draw a double.

Also Rashard Lewis was very similar to Ryan offensively back then. Both were two of the best stretch 4's in the league and were interchangeable on offensive sets. You'd notice a big difference in Ryan's numbers if Corey Brewer could it hit 40%, or if Trevor could hit a reliable amount of 2's that he created, or if our post options drew double teams.

Our real problem is Eric Gordon is gassed. He's already played a whole season's worth of games for him and he doesn't have much playoff experience. You'd be hard-pressed to find a player that has played as long as him with as few games including playoffs. Coach knows this and rested him tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if coach gave him a few more games off as well.

I agree with the general premise, but I think closer to 15 shots, and definitely nothing other than catch and shoot. Obviously if he has a serious mismatch n the post go to him, but mismatches don't happen often for an average post player who are slow and lack strength and athleticism.

What I like about Ryno is he rarely takes contested 3's and if he doesn't have an open look he'll move the ball immediately.

Also, ffs can we get two passes in before a catch and shoot specialist takes a shot? The team wants to shoot before the defense is set, great, but they also need to understand that two passes can be as quick as bouncing the ball two times and WAAAAY more likely to get a good shot. We annihilate defenses when the ball moves quickly and crisply multiple times to find an open shooter. As soon as we start doing 1 pass from Harden and shoot, teams shut us completely down for long stretches and sometimes even ignore the possibility we'll drive to the basket. The most common form of this is: Harden is tired, he passes to Ariza who takes a 3 from the wing regardless of whether it's contested or not. Drives me nuts knowing he's going to shoot before he even sees what the defense is giving him.

He is being used like a glorified Steve Novak on a max contract.

He needs to take all of Brewer's shots.

I mean... he cant create his own shot.

That step-back fadeaway is low % and looks absolutely terrible when he does it. He looks like he is going in slow motion with a broken leg.

Then there's the relentless pump fake motion thing where he looks like a 7th grade girls post player.

He's not going to create any shots for himself, and if other players aren't hitting shots then the defense will reduce his clean looks.

He's not a dynamic offensive player.

20 is way too much but he should be more involved in the offense. he's strictly spot up shooter now. eg and harden doing way too much. ryan and th ebench can do a littl emore

Im afraid he is not mobile enough to come off screens and shoot. He was brought here for one reason and that is to space the floor and to receive passes on the kick out. Basically, the only time that ever happens is when Harden penetrates and the defense starts scrambling. If you want to get him more shots, the solution would be to drive to the basket more often.
