This defense is god awful outside of Watt. We don't have the personnel to run his "3-4" scheme. So why do we continue to trot out that garbage every Sunday? Mark Sanchez carved us up. Yes that Mark Sanchez who's only remembered by a butt fumble just went up and down the field on us. At this point he is stealing money because he isn't earning it. 24th ranked defense not counting today's disaster. The offense isn't helping but we don't have a QB so I'm giving BOB a pass on this year.

Let's ignore no Cushing, Clowney, BOTH starting corners were out, John Simon got injured, etc.

But no blame the defensive coordinator

The defense is basically the same as last year personnel wise what do you expect? Our prize for sucking all of last year has not even played. At least they can get turnovers.

Do you not realize how many injuries we had? Both corners were gone.

That means less men in the box against the run.

    Sanchez didn't carve anyone up.

Missed tackles on 3rd down and phantom defensive penalties were the problem.

The defense is what is keeping the Texans in games.

Ugh. They forced 4 turnovers. Kind of hard to blame the defense when the offense can't do anything when they cause a turnover. And if Foster is out....I don't even want to think about it.

Not saying Crennell is great, but come on - both our starting corners were out today, our first overrall pick has played two games this year (2-0 in those games), our "franchise" LB is a shell of his former self, and Crennell is stuck with mostly the previous regime's players. And we havent even gotten to how terrible this offense is.

4 turnovers and one went for a TD... Its a bind but don't break defense. This is all on the offense who was only able to outscore it's own defense by 7... Terrible thread

You have got to be kidding me. Cushing is awful this year and will never be the same. Clowney? A paper cut would keep this bum out of a game. Joseph has also been awful this year and would not have made a difference in this game. Kareem might have made a difference but I doubt it. Simon? the 3rd string OLB? Yea he would've made this game a lot closer.

Again Mark Sanchez went up and down the field like a hot knife through butter. That should not happen.

Those were gift wrapped TO's and they still scored 31. Had they not had any TO's they would have scored on those drives. This was a terrible defensive performance. This offense will never score more than 30 points ever. So for a defense to give up 31 is just inexcusable IMO.

The defense is pretty much gassed by the 4th quarter because our offense is terrible. OP doesn't sound too smart.

Horrible thread. It's ok to hate on the offense for the shut down running game, and O'Brien's stubbornness to make us sit through Fitzpatrick every week, and the fact that O'Brien's system is so complicated that out players are still having to "learn it"

Lol, Texans get a ton of TOs but never score off of them. Hardly Romeo's fault there. Given what they have on defense they are playing over their heads.

Like I said, bind but don't break defense. Defense is not the problem, its no were near perfect though. Plus injures play a huge factor as well.

There are many things about this Texans team that I'm unhappy with, including some of the coaches.

But Romeo Crennel is not one of them. He's been solid.

Firing Rick Smith makes more sense.
