Imagine they cut him because they felt they had better options. And he had back surgery in January. Same one Watt had.
Chris Clark gave up most QB pressures allowed (67) amongst RTs in 2016. In 2017, Football Outsiders has our OL ranked 32nd in pass protection so far.
I've said it and I'll keep saying it, Clark should never see RT. Ever again. For some reason he is actually decent when he is playing LT.
29. HOUSTON TEXANS Average offensive lineman grade: 49.2 2017 didn’t start well for the Texans offensive line, as the unit surrendered 31 total pressures in their first game against Jacksonville, which is more than what Oakland’s offensive line allowed in the first five games of the season. While it has been slightly better since, Houston still has in its lineup two of the 10 lowest-graded guards in the NFL. Left guard Xavier Su’a-Filo also ranks 67th among guards in pass-blocking efficiency as he has given up a league-high four sacks, while right tackle Breno Giacomini currently ranks last among tackles with a pass-blocking efficiency of 87.2, surrendering a league-high 31 total pressures, including four sacks, on 189 pass-blocking snaps.
So Bouye, the best CB in NFL, wanted to play closer to Florida and we let him walk away. Brown wanted to play on the left coast and we sent him there for a 2019 pick. I hear JJ would like to play for his home state Packers... conditional 4th? DHop wouldn't mind playing for Carolina -- 2019 3rd? Let's be known as the nice guy franchise that helps other teams get players!
A 2nd round pick is a pretty high commodity and great return for a 32 year old player. Even though 2019, that pick has the potential to help us out in 2018 if we choose to.
Front office already leaking stories about getting rid of O'Brien, smh: https://www.sbnation.com/2017/10/30...-obrien-hot-seat-deshaun-watson-seahawks-loss Sorry, Deshaun, we're firing that coach you specifically wanted to play for over all others.
I’m more on BOB side but this what I think 1) Don’t want Deshaun to have to keep learning different offenses (even though he could pick it up quick, what about the others?) 2) BOB continues to choke in the clutch 3) If BOB has that opportunity 1 more time (Steelers, maybe) to keep it in Deshaun hands, he’ll do it. 4) If that opportunity comes again and he chokes again, I’m all for parting ways BUT who’s out there?
