    I like him too but I hate how he approached that topic. He clearly showed a lack of knowledge and went for shock value. At least Nick Wright’s LeBron loving ass usually has stats and a decent breakdown of things.

    This loser needs to hurry up and sign for the minimum. Hes made over 250 million on the court alone, quit haggling and pretend you care about winning. join the only team that wants you. The guy is all hype and hasn't been good in over 5 years... prove yourself off the bench.

    Assuming the Rockets get Melo and resign Capela. And assuming an Anderson for SF trade has not taken place......

    I could seriously see the Rockets looking to START Eric Gordon at SF (like the Nuggets are doing with Will Barton). And then say to Melo, "YOU" are the 6th man. I could see Melo acquiescing to a bench role with Gordon starting (versus with Ennis starting over him).

    That means Gordon and Tucker are the starting forwards. Ennis backs up Gordon, Melo backs up Tucker.

    And behind CP3/Harden the Rocket open training camp with a 3 guard battle of MCW/Melton/Green and the winner gets that backup guard spot.

    CP3
    Harden
    Gordon
    Tucker
    Capela

    (MCW/Melton/Green), Ennis, Melo, Nene

    That is your 9 man rotation.

    We talk about wanting to move Anderson for Bazemore and then plug him into the SF spot. Well we can do that "in house" with Gordon for the time being until an Anderson trade materializes. Yes Gordon is undersized at that position. But he can switch. He is strong in the post. He is a plus defender. And offensively way better than Ariza.

    Just a thought.

    I just have a hard time seeing Melo taking a bench role with Ennis in front of him. But with Gordon.....he has a bit more cred.

    there was news Philly delay the trade so they can work out another trade so they can sign someone before putting themselves over cap after this trade

    Excellent post. I am warming up to the idea of this starting 5. Gordon is criminally underrated defensively by Rockets and non-Rockets fans

    Gordon stays in front of his man, gives great effort, plays smart team defense, but I swear he doesn't provide much in terms of high impact plays (like a big steal or charge) and it feels like guys still just score on him in the playoffs (mainly whoever he switched to on the Warriors).

    Yeah, but in the east and based upon his legacy. There was a year or two where I think I received eastern conference all star votes.
    I am a little surprised by the pushback here and toward Melo on the radio. It's not like the Rockets are investing any real money in him- there is nobody else out there at all appealing, and it feels like a chance worth taking.

    It was a joke. Making fun of the Eastern Conference. B/c it's been the weaker conference (and far weaker many years imo) for going on 25 years.
