We've heard that since the slow start, he's spending extra time working on 1on1 attacks, and the Step-back, (probably including that floater and the midrange fadeway) and he even had that leg contusion doing the extra 1on1 work, which almost caused a missed game.

And now teammates are saying they're following his lead to work more.

"It's unbelievable what he's doing," Gerald Green said. "Guarding, making plays off the dribble, making plays, just scoring from all over. Leading, you know, he's making sure guys get extra work in after practice. Making sure guys are focused on pregame. He does a lot of little things you probably don't see on camera, but the way he's playing right now, we really need that for now and until the end of the season."

Also have to like that he has a solid sparring partner now in Rivers. And btw, if there is one thing MCW is good for is for Harden to get extra practice in against rested, defensive length.

I don’t know.... he looks a little heavy and not motivated. He just isn’t in shape. Classic Harden.

D'antoni needs to be called out. Harden isn't getting enough rest

Harden has finally matured? Will he have a successful, winning post season averaging 35+ a game in route to a championship for the city of Houston?

He improves every year. I take this as where he used to have to spend time in the film room breaking down defenses with MDA 1st yr (and MDA/Paul 2nd yr), he now has seen everything, and the game has slowed down, that he can fockass on the shots he needs to perfect...and working with teammates.

remember, he got converted to a Point Guard in the NBA's historically most PG intensive offense ever.

ie: while film room quarterbacking is important, it means he's not working on his shots or with teammates.

What do you mean by mature? In terms of basketball improvement, he’s been mature since the day we got him, as he’s improved every year.

Will he have one of the greatest post seasons ever? Maybe.

Just his 3rd year in the league as a PG.

So think about high high end rookie PGs when they come out.

The first year is sloppy but exciting.

The second year is a bit more refined. Smarter and less sloppy with signs of solid growth.

The third year is when things start to come together and they start playing at an absolute top tier level worthy of a max contract extension.

Well, James entered the league as a PG after 7 seasons as a SG; out of necessity.

What we are watching is one of the top 5 SGs of all time become one of the greatest PGs of all time....

All while "still" being the greatest SG in the league....

To top it off hes cementing himself as the GOAT isolation scorer to ever play this game...

    Its.

    Fuuckin.

    Remarkable.....

Also he’s 29. Think about how old Hakeem was when his temper cooled, his game evolved, and everything seemed to slow down for him.

Harden doesn’t have to change anything off the court, but for the all time greats they do hit this extra gear in terms of their mental mastery of the game. Let’s see what happens in the playoffs.

Sure he can work harder in practice since he doesn’t have to in games—lives at the free throw line. Real players don’t EVAARRR shoot FTs

His leadership has matured bigly over the last couple of years. It's very impressive.

Two seasons ago we needed someone like Paul to complement Harden's enigmatic ways. Last season Paul and Harden were perfect foils.

This season Harden seems to have made the the leap to fully rounded leader. I didn't expect to say that.

Harden's work ethic is so underrated. His stepback/sidestep 3's are such difficult shot that require so much work and repitition.

Harden's leadership and game have both expanded and matured. He's clear he wants to be seen as the best and he's stepping up his overall game to make that claim. Unfortunately, the media is not a fan and he's becoming the Melania of the NBA (in more ways than one ;-)

In any case, this is a lot of fun to see him elevating the young players games with his attitude and play. This Warrior game is going to be really interesting.

It’s all free throws and playing time. Those are what make Harden who he is.

This was MVP summer! But weight gain in summer time, becomes consistent for him.
