It was a mistake to let go of Josh Smith a few seasons ago. This time, it is the same mistake on Carmelo Anthony.

You acting like an ******* towards someone you aren't fit to shine shoes for isn't getting you or anyone else anywhere, in my humble opinion. Save the drama for Entourage.

They use to put 2 for 1 ticket coupons on bread packages …. Two people could go to a game for a whopping $6 and have fairly decent seats.

As for length of "fandom" it doesn't get any longer than me , I been following the team from day 1 in Houston and was worried it wouldn't last …. because if you know the history of pro basketball prior to the Rockets - We had an ABA team - The Houston Mavericks who moved to Greensborough as the Cougars and later became "The Spirit of St Louis" …. The Mavericks were sold and moved because of a lack of attendance / give a damn in Houston.

Probably one of a handful of people who have been to a game at every venue the Rockets have called "home" (In Houston) over that time - Sam Houston Coliseum , Hofheinz Pavilion , Astrodome , AstroHall , The Summit and Toyota Center.

Its a bit more than replace Ennis with Ariza … Ryno and Luc are also gone and those minutes and production have not been replaced.

Between those three players , they averaged 85.6 minutes a game last year. Ennis is the last experiment standing (MCW & Melo ?) and he's averaging 26.6 minutes a game.

Then we have the regression of CP3 , EG , Nene and GG ….

I don't disagree with your overall point but this team is not slightly less talented , its significantly less talented. Specifically in terms of defense and rebounding …. One player doesn't fix this mess , they need a wing and a 4 as well as CP3 , EG and GG to find that spark from last year.

This might be a stretch but in order to get depth, what would y’all think of trading Capela for Vucevic and Simmons from the Orlando Magic? Rumor is the Magic are going to be moving on from him in the offseason. Simmons is a great defender and can score as well. When he was with the Spurs he was killing it. Also he is a former Houston Cougar.

Add Vuc to this defense and we can definitely get a top 3 pick in the draft. It would be a horrible trade all things considered.

Finally I can post again without being re-directed to a site offering me a gift after 5 seconds of entering CF’s.

I posted prior to the (Mavs) game that CP3 and Harden were holding onto the ball to long. During the game I noticed
both were being more decisive and picking up the pace. Think last years WC finals where Harden/CP3 held
on to the ball too long and the Warriors were able to set their defense easily......then from game 2 on...
Harden and CP3 put their heads down and just charged and took control. Same offense.....but different.
    Just about “too much thinking”

Yesterday I mistakenly mixed stat site information, which was an accident. I wrote down pace of each team from
basketball-reference.com, but after the game I cited pace from Hollinger.com (which they cite about 2 points higher).
Nevertheless I saw the Rockets improve until the final part of the 4th quarter when Doncic took over.

It’s time for CP3 and Harden to take off. They’ve been holding the hands of new players like
Gary Clark/House/Ennis/Hartenstein.....but now its time to take off the training wheels. It’s either time to sink
or swim for the new guys.

    Luc MaM (last season w/new team/Hou): First 9 games: 28.5 mins....48.3 (FG%)....28.0 (3P%)....8.1 pts/game
    ................................................................Next 13 games: 23.6 mins....38.3 (FG%)....43.2 (3P%)....5.2 pts/game

    Tucker (last season w/new team/Hou): First 9 games: 29.7 mins.....33.3 (FG%).....35.0 (3P%).....6.1 pts/game
    ............................................................Next 13 games: 26.0 mins.....47.5 (FG%).....39.0 (3P%).....6.5 pts/game

    Ennis (this season w/new team/Hou): First 9 games: 22.1 mins...39.2 (FG%)...39.4 (3P%).....6.3 pts/game
    ..............................................................Next 13 games: 27.9 mins.....54.1 (FG%)...34.0 (3P%).....9.7 pts/game

*just an FYI for those critical of the Ariza/Luc MaM change. Ennis is starting to understand....just glaring
flaw at SF this year because no Ariza to help transition. Ariza helped cover for Luc and Tucker
deficiency’s early in the season (17/18). Ryan Anderson was playing PF, in an attempt to showcase
for trades.....so Tucker didn’t get his starting gig until the trading deadline passed. People
need to note that Ariza got tired by season’s end each of that last two years and fell flat in the
playoffs. Rockets are hoping that Ennis starts the season slow but is solid by season’s end.

Time to take off the training wheels.

Ryno and Luc are not really relevant to the basketball we played in the playoffs. They both barely played, and each of them was a Carmeloesque liability on one or the other side of the floor. We have guys like that right now (Clark, Hartenstein, House).

The whole problem is they - Harden, Paul, Gordon - are not interested in giving 100% under these conditions. The fact of the matter is, with Harden/Paul/Tucker/Gordon/Capela/Ennis playing a bulk of the minutes, you are correct that we are not a 65-win Warriors beating team, but we are also still better than what they've produced thus far.

There are several teams with better records than us who have a worse top 5, and a worse 7th/8th/9th rotation player. I'm not interested in going back and forth on my/your subjective opinions of which teams those are, but there is not a chance we should be .440 on the season even with this depleted rotation.

I think we are discussing 2 different things. You're analyzing why we're not contenders, I'm analyzing why this particular set of players is not displaying effort consistent with any NBA team that is not tanking or imploded.

    per Hollinger.com
    Team Pace (17/18).................Team Pace (18/19)
    1) Pels 101.60.........................Hawks 108.6
    2) Suns 101.27........................Kings 106.9
    3) Lakers 100.97.....................Pels 106.2
    4) 76ers 100.90.......................Lakers 106.0
    5) GSW 100.43.......................Bucks 106.0
    6) Nets 99.74..........................OKC 105.4
    7) Clips 99.62..........................Wiz 105.3
    8) Hawks 98.85.......................76ers 104.9
    9) Cavs 98.79.........................Clips 104.2
    10) Bulls 98.79.......................Heat 103.4
    11) Hornets 98.74..................Pistons 103.2
    12) Magic 98.63.....................Raps 103.1
    13) Raps 98.11......................Mavs 103.1
    14) Rockets 98.10................Bulls 103.1
    *Note only 5 teams .............Hornets 103.0 ...
    of 100 or more.

    ...............................................23) Spurs 101.1
    ...............................................24) Nets 101.0
    ...............................................25) Magic 100.8
    ...............................................26) Pacers 100.6
    ...............................................27) Denver 100.2
    ...............................................28) Houston 99.4
    ...............................................29) Cavs 99.1
    ...............................................30) Grizz 98.1
...........................................*Note only 3 teams under 100 in Pace. Makes us look older than old.

Teams know Houston scores by: at rim/FT’s/3’s..........so teams are showing collapsing of the paint
but jetting out to 3-point shooters. Playing the passing lanes and guarding our 3-point shooters close.
Thus CP3/Harden & Capela can have career years if they go selfish. Much like Bullard saying
the Rockets are willing to give up post plays because they are inefficient......teams are willing to
give up 2’s while trying not to foul us........closing out on our 3-point shooters. Imho

James Harden thinks about Strip Clubs, Paying for Escorts, Clubbing after bad Losses, Those are Harden Real Passion is Slutty Gold Digging, Hired Gun Women. Harden being on drugs, smoking Hoka, Drinking in the offseason. Eating Unhealthy, Being Overweight in Training Camp.
Chris Paul hates James Harden Lifestyle and not being fully committed, Trevor I think left because of Harden not Listening, and not caring. Trevor almost got into a fight with Harden after the Spurs Playoff exit. Trevor was the middle man between Harden and Chris Paul, now those two can't talk on the court.
Chris Paul issues with body is he has no knee tendons in both knees, he is bone on bone, his hamstring is waiting to be popped.

Rockets need to trade both of them, Morey needs younger stars to Restart this Franchise.

    Giannis Antetenkounpo
    Luka Doncic
    Trae Young
    Donovan Michell
    Ben Simmons
    Joel Embiid
    Jayson Tatum
    Kyle Kuzma
    Dearron Fox
    Deandre Ayton
    Devin Booker

stats from 17/18 season and 18/19 season as of 12/10/18 (prior to game against Blazers)
    per basketball-reference.com

    Stat......17/18 season (rank).........18/19 season (rank)
    TOV.........13.8 (12th).........................14.2 (14th)....................virtually the same.
    Blks...........4.8 (15)..............................5.9 (10).......................basically one more per game.
    Stl..............8.5 (5)................................8.0 (15)......................basically the same....but note rank difference.
    ast.............21.5 (26)............................21.1 (27).....................basically the same.
ORB..........9.0 (24)...............................10.9 (12)....................more offensive rebs this year by about 2 per game.
DRB..........34.5 (10)..............................30.0 (29)...................4.5 less defensive rebs per game this season.
TRB..........43.4 (18)..............................40.9 (29)...................approximately 2.6 less rebs per game this season.
2PA...........41.9 (30)..............................43.5 (30)........Bad if teams favor taking away the 3-pt shot....pick up the Pace.
FTA...........25.1 (3).................................23.2 (20).......I believe it’s been established that the refs are not our friends.

    Opponent
    FTA............19.6 (6)................................25.4 (21)........”freedom of movement-rule” probably a factor. 6 FT’s > / game.

    FGA...........84.2 (27)..............................85.7 (27)........virtually the same.
    Pace..........97.6 (13)...........................95.7 (29)...........better pick up the pace if shooting such a sub-par 3P%

    Opponent
    3P%...........35.1 (7)................................35.4 (14)...........virtually the same.

    Opponent
    2P%............51.9 (20)...............................53.5 (24)..........little higher this season.

    3PA..............42.3 (1)................................42.2 (1).............same.
3PM..............15.3 (1)................................14.2 (1)............1 less per game. Season is not over yet.
3P%..............36.2 (13)..............................33.7 (24)..........ditto (season is not over yet)

    Summary:
Stats don’t tell the whole story but they do tell a story......much like the clues left out at a crime scene.
Rockets are being killed by Pace, slight decrease in team FT’s, with an uptick in opponents FT’s per game.
As a consultant i find the fewer DRebs practically offset by the increase in Orebs.....not as big a worry as
many CF’s here make it out to be. The “freedom of movement-rule” inforcement sucks imo.

Thank you for your time. You can pay me later Tillman....bill is in the mail.

*Side Note: injuries and suspensions probably a factor in the slower pace experienced earlier in the season.
Time to take the “Training Wheels” off. Take it out on the highway now.
