    I wouldn't use the NT-MLE.

I also wouldn't go to my mouth piece making excuses as to why we aren't using it after insinuating we would.

Who recruiting these guys? Seems like nobody harden talking too. Its just ...
Harden " Daryle you gonna sign me butler"/
Morey " Na run it back "
Harden "Again? This is getting tiring with no running mate star"
Morey "Run it back , 3 times a NEXT!!"
    Harden " OK"

We’re going to trade the first either way. Iguodala is going to the Lakers if he gets bought out.

Using the NT-MLE hard caps you at the apron. So if you're trying to be cheap, wouldn't the incentive be to use it and implement the hard cap? That would actually be kind of the dream scenario for a cheap owner -- a way to cap the salary, all while saying it was done for "basketball reasons."

Ok, but who are the players worth using the MLE now in your view?

@sirbaihu the warriors fan is rejoicing at the thought of the rockets not getting better. Why do such "fans" exist but to only root for owners?!?

We have avenues to duck the tax right now, if I read correctly

Our next first-round pick is burning a hole in Morey's pocket for a 35.5 year old Iggy who struggles to shoot 3's and FT's and could be bought our for free anyways? Why not just sign Thabo for the min?

    WTF?

Sounds like Morey is either A. Scared of losing his job and is panicking or B. Isn't the one making decisions anymore.

Anyway we can get Andre, McGee and JaMychal? If we can’t get Andre let’s go for JaMychal.

This just seems like wild paranoia. I mean, to each their own, but my goodness.

They offered four 1sts for Butler last fall, which would have sent them way into the tax. They're trying to trade Shumpert's Bird rights for Igoudala now, which would put them well into the tax. The idea that they're intentionally feeding misinformation to the media as some cover for a "no tax under any circumstances" strategy, all while saying the exact opposite to anyone who will listen... come on.

Why on earth would Daryl Morey have not taken the Philly job, if this were the case?

If we trade Shumpert for Iggy and it sends us into the tax. All we have are unlimited minimum contracts correct?

Minimums and what's left of the taxpayer MLE (after House). But with tenured veterans, like McGee, I think the minimum is actually greater. (@BimaThug just addressed this on Twitter.)

JaMychal Green, Justin Holiday are the only one's that are worth it. both could start as a 3D forward and leg ego go back to super 6th man role.

the problem isn't who would be sign now. its why didn't we sign someone when there was plenty to choose from?

I think it has less to do with that, and more to do with the decisions the team made last year.

I’m not saying the decision to duck the tax was wrong, but so far it has cost us the use of the MLE last year, our 2019 1st and Melton. In a league of thin margins, those could end up being the difference between a championship and an early exit. Those assets collectively could have brought us a couple of actual contributors...instead they are gone and we have no actual on the court return to show for them.

According to cbafaq.com it would be $2,564,753 in the first year, which I assume is more than what is left of the tax MLE. Hope I have that right.

Say what you want about Iggy but damn man, he is great in the POs. I hate him.....like a lot. But if he were a Rocket, thats guaranteed PO production imo.

BUT.....if we are being honest....Id like to go after Luc on the minimum than Jamychal Green or Morris. Im wondering why we arent in discussion talks with ay of them.

Why tf are we trading our pick anyway. Lin, Lawson, Lou, Shumpert this stupid strategy doesn’t work.
