What are some of your favorite songs that weren't originally recorded acoustically, but sound great when played on an acoustic guitar? I've been trying to brainstorm to play, but I'm drawing a blank.

My favorite, that currently comes to mind, is Radiohead - Creep.

    Everlong is another good one

    Cornell Black Hole Sun

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/2xvnBaxH78k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I also love this... Cornell Billy Jean

And anything from Nirvana's Unplugged NY album.

Pretty much any Social Distortion song, but I really love this one.

This one is just awesome. It's a cover of a legendary punk band, Operation Ivy, that was very short lived only because of its very own awesomeness. I was so pissed when I found out they broke up. A couple of it's members formed a band, Down Fall, but it didn't last long. Then Lint and Matt formed Rancid which is playing in the video below which is covering their very own song from OPIVY.

Another one by the same band Rancid, which is singing a song about their former band Operation Ivy.

    Need a sub-thread for ukeleles.

Saw this on boingboing a month or so ago and can't get it out of my mind. It isn't really entirely "unplugged", but a homemade broomstick electric guitar seems funky enough to get a pass.

    <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/fgFPDPCprr0?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fgFPDPCprr0?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

And this was cute enough that they ended up with a TV commercial deal:

Well, if we're going there, I got another vote:

One-man band. Fairly awesome. I particularly like the percussive suitcase.

So many from that album that I love...

Pennyroyal Tea, Lake of Fire, Man Who Sold the World...

Probably this one the most, though...
