In the spirit of beer drinking holidays, what is ya'll fav? Newcastle Brown for me. No bite, just nice and smooth with an awesome after-taste. Bennigans has it on tap. Ice cold and out of a keg....it doesn't get any better than that. Its pretty steep, though: $6-$7 for a sixer. Amstel is a CLOSE second, but isn't cheap either. Bud Light is my default. ------------------ I need a new signature. 302 [This message has been edited by Lynus302 (edited September 04, 2000).]
I'll take a Corona with a lime wedge any day of the week... Guiness Stout is great, also, even though it looks like used motor oil... ------------------ If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!!
Hands down, Corona. ------------------ "I talked about what degenerates they [Mets fans] were, and they proved me right. Just by saying something, I could make them mad enough to go home and slap their moms." John Rocker
I don't like beer. But, if I'm going down the river or going somewhere's where getting lit is a prerequisite and I have to drink beer, I prefer Coors Light. Mainly, because it tastes like water. Of course most of my river trips consisted of a cooler full of Olympia Gold Light. If I'm going to a bar and I have to order a pitcher and no one else wants Coors Light, I'll go with Shiner Bock. As far as the best "tasting" beer I ever had. After the tour at the Spoetzl brewery (In Shiner, TX where Shiner is brewed - for non-Texans) I had some of their Honey Wheat beer on tap. That was pretty darn good. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem. DREAMer's Rocket Page
Sam Adams, and whatever is in front of me at the time ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
My Dad always said, "There's a reason why, when you walk into a bar in Mexico, no Mexicans are drinking Corona. It's piss." I tend to agree. When I'm at my favorite watering hole, BW3 Austin, I'll stick with one kind a night of the following (23 oz. only): Newcastle Honey Brown Sam Adams Dox Equis Guiness Shiner Bock ------------------ Cheerleaders are just dancers who've gone r****ded. visit www.swirve.com
"Whatever he is having....Hey partner, how's it going." Next time you are on the road in small town Texas, try that one. You'll end up getting beers bought for you. But don't use it on the guy in the corner stool, you usually have to build up to him.
Certainly not warm Schaeffer light. I've had a few of those in my time.... Favs - Miller Lite,Corona,Moosehead ------------------ "UNBEATABLE"
I woulda thought you woulda said Fosters, Smeg. ------------------ Starting at shortstop, for the Houston Astros, Nomar Garciaparra.
Fosters is Australian for PISS No one in Australia drinks Fosters, i am serious, it is a beer produce primarily for the international market, no one touches the stuff in Australia. It is Crap, there are 100s of Australian beers better than fosters. ------------------ Discombobulation Imminent [This message has been edited by SmeggySmeg (edited September 04, 2000).]
Miller Light is my favorite beer. I also drink Labatt Blue, Coor's Light & Budweiser. ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel-boy.
I was in Amsterdam a few years back. I took the 9AM tour of the Heineiken brewery. After the tour, they brought out several rounds of the freshest of the fresh. Needless to say, I was pretty ripped by 11:00 in the morning. ------------------ I need a new signature. 302
Aaah, a subject near & dear to my heart. In a pub, Newcastle Brown Ale. In the beer joint (Kay's or Little Woodrow's), Bud Light. At home, Bud Light, Pacifico w/a wedge of lime, or St. Arnold's Weizen. ------------------ Bring It!! [This message has been edited by RocketMan Tex (edited September 05, 2000).]
Bud Light by default, but faves are Hacker Pschorr (sp?), Amstel Lt, Harp, Boddingtons, and Goose Island. Absolute top of the list for me is Guinness. I like beer. ------------------ Clutch Goons, Inc.
Keeley, If you ever get the chance visit the Guinness factory in Dublin, do the tour and get your pints. Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!! ------------------ Discombobulation Imminent
Fat Tire(for the moment) During the winter, I love Shiner Winter Ale and an ice cold glass. ------------------ I am the founding member of the Butt-Nekkid Party! White House here we come!
Smeg - I'll keep that in mind. Incidentally, I have a really good friend down under right now. He's there on business for KPMG - I don't know what kind of cream of the crop assignment he got, but he did. He backs up *everything* you have said (or was it the good doc?) about Fosters. He says the locals can't stand it. I've never had a sip in my life, personally. Lynus, I must agree about Newcastle. I left that off of my list on accident. Must be a hangover. Aside from the fine imports, I love a good 18-wheeler. Colt 45, Mickey's, OE... bottled evil, and I like to drink it from time to time. ------------------ Clutch Goons, Inc.
Ahhhh Pimp, a man after my own heart. Fat Tire rules. Unfortunately I can't get it here w/ the Utards. Maiselwaissen is probably my favorite beer, again not available in Utah. Most of the time here I just drink a stout, or if I'm frugal... Bud Lite. ------------------
