There really isn't a correlation between knowing how to get in shape and showing people how to do it -- and actually being in shape currently. But I'm sure it definitely hinders their ability to close sales. With that said, there are some random jabronis that have never even come close to sniffing the NBA that train SUPERSTAR athletes for TOP DOLLAR. That's even more mind blowing to me. Black Ops Basketball, Puresweat Basketball, etc...
I don't think just because someone's not in shape doesn't mean they can't train someone else to be in shape. Of course, it looks dumb and hypocritical but that doesn't take away from their knowledge. And I think some of these extra fit trainers take things too far with their training. most people just want a simple workout and diet plan to follow but i keep seeing dumb **** like squats on a medicine ball.. You can't out-workout your terrible eating habits. Fix that first, then figure out your training goals. Is it to build more muscle, lose fat, have more endurance...? Then build a workout plan to focus on said goal. Too many people associate a particular workout to weight loss when they need to be focusing on cleaning up their diet. OH MY BEST FRIEND LOST 15LBS ONCE SHE STARTED DOING THROWING KETTLE BALLS 400 FT IN THE AIR...
You know there is a distinct difference between personal trainers and athletic trainers. Calling an AT a personal trainer is very offensive.

my rehab professor had a huge gut because he love eating fast food and love his beer but damn he had one of the strongest core I know.
I know this girl who’s a nutritionist and she’s pretty fat. It’s interesting hear her talk about dieting and she’s eating chips etc.
