So who is up for lunch?

Fast-food toilet-water has less bacteria than their drinks-ice
A seventh-grade student in New Tampa, FL, compared the water in fast food restaurants' toilets to the water used in their drinks-ice and concluded that the ice was higher in bacteria than the toilets. 12-year-old Jasmine Roberts won her school science fair for her research and hopes to win the county prize this week.

Yeah but I bet you will be ordering your next take-out coke at a fast food restaurant with *no ice*. That's the money play.

Did she sample the toilet water in the men's room as well, or just the ladies? Could be a difference there; men are nastier.

Its kind of like all the 20/20 studies that show that toilets are cleaner than your desk at work, or your kitchen sink...and the dirtiest thing in the entire world is the kitchen sponge.

One of the reasons that toilets tend to be "cleaner" is that they are usually regularly cleaned with highly caustic, strong, antibacterial cleaners.

Your desk at work, your kitchen sink, the sponge, and apparently the ice machine, aren't.

And I'd imagine the bacteria that does exist in the toilet is a lot more harmful than the ice-machine.

Toilet water is cleaner than the water that comes out of your sink at your home as well, but you won't see me drinking out of it.

Kinda funny how we had to figure this out from a 7th grader.

Mythbusters tested the 5 second rule.

Using various techniques, they concluded the toilet seat yeilded the least amount of bacteria in their petri dishes. Other samples included their shop floor, work table, etc etc.

That doesn't mean I'm gonna eat off my toilet seat. It just means I'll work to clean my kitchen a little more.
