November 29, 2005 11:46 AM ET Texans: Capers still has job The News Despite the Texans' 1-10 start, Dom Capers will likely be the team's coach through the end of the season. Team owner Bob McNair reiterated following Sunday's come-from-ahead loss to the Rams that there is an ongoing evaluation of Capers and general manager Charley Casserly, with no firings on the horizon. "I don't see anything positive to come from a change during the season," McNair told the Houston Chronicle. "We've got five games left, and we're going through an evaluation process that won't end until we've played 16 games." Our View Rumors have already been floated that Steelers assistant Russ Grimm, who has ties to Casserly from their days in Washington, could be in line for Capers' job, but that assumes Casserly keeps his. Grimm could probably step in and start on the Texans' offensive line right now, making him an extra-valuable asset.
Isnt he the offensive line coach? I thought I heard Charlie talking about him on 790 yesterday. He said it was very very rare for an 0-line coach to be upgraded to a Head Coach in the NFL. If Bob McNair knows what is good for him, he will fire Casserly and Capers.
Lets see last place in the Leauge 3rd Highest paid team in the NFL Top 5 paid OL in the NFL And bad picks in the draft during his tenure.. Yup Casserly Needs to go people...
