I wonder if those polls were Chad Ford's attempt to make himself feel better. If so, what a backfire...........
Codell, that was EXACTLY what I was thinking as well when I saw that poll! He figured that HIS trade suggestions would be the highest voted ones so then in his next column he could say that all of america agreed with him. I think EVERYONE should go there RIGHT NOW and vote for the Rockets related choices.
Everytime Chad Ford tried to put a spin to his so called "insider info", he get f**ked in the face again. Priceless!
I think it's basically proof that he under-valued the business side of the deal. That poll proves that the overwhelming majority of basketball fans, even the informed ones who would go to a site like ESPN during the off season and look at the NBA section, are subject to the same superstar bias we all suffer. Our deal is the only one offering a perenial all-star and that carries a lot of weight with the fans. Guys like Shawn Marion, Ron Artest and Cory Maggette might be preferable to some basketball experts because of their height and what they bring to a team, but the fans want the star player. Steve Francis is the only real star being offered.
I went and voted and thought everyone else might want to see the results after another 20,000 people voted. The results are about the same and CHAD FORD still looks like an idiot. nice http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sport...1=20015&question4932=20024&question4933=20027 Updated ESPN Poll Results on Trade: 3:30 PM Vote: T-Mac & Yao, the Dynamic Duo? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SportsNation Thank you for voting. Absolutely! And that is the point I made in another post on the board. The Value of Francis in terms of Business and merchandise is huge. Ford only looked at the potential and basketball side of things. That's great on Playstation but not totally practicle in the business of the NBA.
