Hopefully they get him so we don't have people pissed at Morey for not offering this guy a max contract.
yeah bima got em <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>@<a href="https://twitter.com/chris_broussard">chris_broussard</a> Anthony Morrow CANNOT be traded to the Nets BY RULE. Your source on that point is either lying or ignorant to the CBA rules</p>— David Weiner (@BimaThug) <a href="https://twitter.com/BimaThug/status/300808661322850307">February 11, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
How dumb would the Nets have to be to take this deal? Seems like they don't get anything they need anyway... And getting Josh Smith really doesn't seem to do much for them either. Joe Johnson+J-Smoove? Sounds like ATL 2.0 to me...
Yet another example of how horrible mainstream NBA sports reporting is. Chris Broussard is on ESPN! And the man doesn't understand the CBA (and probably has zero interest in understanding it, either) and somehow does not understand that a Kris Humphries (pretty average player, getting paid a large amount of money in 2013-14) and Marshon Brooks (a mediocre third rate "prospect") is worth less to the Atlanta Hawks than cap space (i.e., NOTHING AT ALL). I have been paid a grand total of zero dollars in my lifetime to cover the NBA and I understand these concepts, so why can't one of ESPN's leading "experts" understand them? These are not particularly difficult concepts! And do the Nets even have any first round picks after that Deron Williams trade? Didn't they give up, like, two or three first round picks for Deron Williams? Not that long ago? And what the hell are the Nets even doing? Their roster is a complete disaster. They are going to be in luxury tax hell for the foreseeable future, and I will be surprised if that roster ever wins a first round series.
