    Kiper on Jones:

[rquoter]I can see Houston looking here for a fit at outside linebacker as well -- and I expect some surprised Texans fans -- but Jones is a hunch call as a perfect option to take some of the pressure off Andre Johnson. Jones has Johnson's size and as a physical receiver brings his lunch pail as a blocker. He can stretch the field, can work underneath and isn't a distant second to Green in terms of overall talent. A good option to take advantage of Matt Schaub's growth into an elite quarterback[/rquoter]

    McShay on Smith:

[rquoter]Kareem Jackson should make big strides in his second season, and Glover Quin should improve in his third season. It would be nice to bring in a veteran cornerback to provide depth and stability, but if the Texans are unable to do so, Smith would be a good pick for them at No. 11. A big, smooth cornerback with the strength, confidence and balance to hold up in press-man coverage, Smith could emerge as one of the most underrated players from the 2011 class.

If Julio Jones is on their board as the best player available and if they have useful OLB, NT and secondary prospects they think will be available in later rounds, it's not an absolutely crazy pick. They need to revamp the return game and more speed can't hurt the offense.

I would gladly take Jones simply because he is as close to a sure thing as they will get, I dont trust these guys drafting anything else

As for McShay, how did he get a job as a draft analysis, he couldnt be more of an idiot

I have watched Jimmy Smith every game for the past 3 years and he has never impressed me on the field, I don't understand all this hype he is getting

I dont doubt his talent, and i do like the idea of having another WR that teams fear (eventually they will need one) but it seems like a bit of a stretch to take him given that the texans needs on defense.

CB - im guessing they will hold fast.

Safety - both position can use help. I would suspect they will beupgraded with a FA signing.

that leaves OLB and DT. Either way, the pick may not start but they will certainly get a good share of PT and ideally make plays. At the 11 pick, they should be able to draft either with some quality play...more likely so for the OLB than DT. While Diles, sharpton, adibi and company are solid players, imo, i'm unsure how they will fit into the new system and they are solid players...not playmakers.

If they went offense with the first pick, WR would be the most likely and that would be julio...unless AJ green falls but thats doubtful

there really isnt another offensive position i could see being taken...or at least thats not a long shot.

If the Texans lost in week 17 they could be looking at Patrick Peterson right now.

It's really annoying that the two guys who know the absolute least about this crap are the ones pimped by ESPN as being the experts, Kiper in particular. I cannot believe people pay money to read that.

The texans should draft locker, put him in a few spots to look good and then try to get one of these teams to overpay for a backup qb. If that doesn't work out we can always use another tight end.

Would the Texans really pass up on Robert Quinn if he's available?? Also, if Patrick Peterson drops to 7, should the Texans jump at an opportunity to trade up for him?

So the Texans will cut Antonio Smith? I don't see a reason to pay him that kind of money for him to come off the bench. Stupid pick.
