[ESPN] Howard destinations, Houston mentioned as facilitator

Matt Barnes is a useless player. Parsons will lose his starting position if he won't shoot the ball. KMart will fit in LA or Orlando he just don't fit here. He needs to play off an all star to be effective.

 

Why the **** are we always the doormat in such trades.

 

There's no way we should get rid of Dragic.

Our team is bound to get ****ed up at trade deadline just like it did 2 years ago. We were on track to make the playoffs with Carl Landry and then Morey pulled the carpet from under the Rockets like he always does with a wack ass trade.

 

With Barnes we'd have another Black guy to play with Lowry.

More cap and trade up for a superior talent. I'd prefer to go younger but mas o menos.

I don't get any logic in us giving up Martin and Scola if we are getting Gasol. The only reason to get Gasol is to win in the next few years. Why would you trade key pieces to a championship contender if you are trying to build a championship contender? I didn't like the trade one bit in the summer, but at least then, there was the potential to pick up Nene and team Nene and Gasol up. No, it's just basically giving up two good scorers for one really good scorer.

What is Barnes' contract like? If he is expiring, then it makes a little more sense, but not by much.

 

Please no more 'Gasol' trade talks. His name only sounded good when it was followed by 'Nene'.

Meh - it might be ok alongside Dalembert/ Patterson. Certainly gives us genuine frontcourt size and shotblocking help defence.

But our offer would HAVE to be less now - giving up Dragic Martin Scola worked with Nene coming. Doesn't work so well without him coming!

I would happily give up Dragic/Scola/Thabeet for Gasol. The Lakers have nothing else of remote interest for us (outside of Kobe/Bynum of course - but those guys aren't moving).

If they wanted to get us in on a three way, then we'd need to be getting value from the other team involved if we were to give up a Martin (etc)

lets be honest... pau isnt that good anymore... he is the same as scola... he is good but on the decline.. while i admit he is much better on defense and in turn a much better all around player... he is far from worth it... everyone says we were trying to get pau for hopes of also getting nene... truth is we were trying to get pau so we could offer marc gasol and hope he would play for us with his brother ... nene was the backup for that... anyways it didnt happen... neither option.... and morey wont make this trade... he has worked diligently to build cap space for this offseason and he isnt going to ruin it... i would much rather have kaman and the low price to get him and his expiring than pau and his over priced declining not so good arse and horrible contract... we are only the 'facilitators' because people like our players,thier talent, potential, expiring... morey realizes this and wont get raped in any trade... ie one that gives up alot for pau...

 

Gasol is playing like a borderline allstar or bottom allstar. That's not it.... Luis Scola has been playing bad or average basketball so far...... Martin is consistent.... and we are still putting good stats, are near 0.60 winning percentage... that speaks a volume..... Gasol would put us near Top 3 without giving up much else.

That would be move for one or two seasons... We have to try to look for other options regardless

I would totally throw a fit if we become a doormat to other teams. Let Lakers overpay with their players for Howard, it would be too easy for the Lakers just to give up 2 for 1 big stud. This trade totally makes the Lakers back on top because at the current pace they are slowly tilting to mediocrity.

 

maybe in the offseason we will have enough cap room to sign batum and asik. then we will have a solid lineup all two way players

If I were Orlando, Pau, Dally, plus a really good PG, a young lottery pick, and expiring contracts would be a very attractive package for Dwight.

asik is restricted and will fall under the gilbert arenas rule. batum is also restricted.

the highest upside player the Rockets appear to have is donuts. the biggest knock on him was his rebounding but he's smashed that perception this season in europe.

 

That makes no sense at all because we wouldn't trade for Dwight without an extension. The only way Dwight is coming here is if we make some noise in the playoffs and somehow fit him in without losing any core players except for the position he wants to play.
